Hi, do you know what machine is used at BMW Dealerships for this?
Is there any advantage having this done at BMW instead of at a BMW Independent Specialist or a regular garage? Obviously at BMW it will cost the most (probably). Thanks |

I think it's worth getting a quote from a dealership and an independent specialist, they'll probably near enough use the same equipment I assume?
I'm also thinking about getting an alignment done after I get new tyres all around. Though going the string alignment route instead and opting for a "fast road setup"

Any decent alignment will have the correct spec for your vehicle and will have a reputation to uphold , the main dealer may have hidden , cash generation, agendas.
The place i use only does alignment and not repairs , they check all the suspension components prior to adjusting anything. They were also 20% of the cost of the Porsche main dealer. K |

I would generally avoid the likes of the local tyre fitters (quick fit, stapletons etc), jack of all and master of none. As with anything it's the operator who is the key, he can have the best gear in the world but if he doesn't know how to use it properly you'll have issues. Have a chat with your local independent guy & ask him the questions if he is a BMW specialist he should have some experience in it and give you confidence that he knows what's what. Just to say there are different set ups for a 320i whether it's x-drive, M sport or if it's lowered |

Over in NI a full alignment cost me £60 at an Indi. but over here it cost me £100 for just a toe alignment! In contrast the local BMW MD is £110 for the full deal. I suspect it's a BMW price but it seems to be a better deal, IMO.

Again, I'm going to give a shout out to National Tyres in Horsham - they done a great job with our tyres and then again with the Hunter 4 wheel alignment.
Guys there seemed to be actual car people and I was supplied with a before and after report of the alignment. £95 for the 4 wheel alignment |

If you’re midlands based I’d recommend A-Line. They’ve got a good reputation which is why you’ll have to wait.
