Door marker lights?

I'm thinking about installing some red LED marker lights on the rear inside edge of my doors so the open door is more visible to passing traffic. It seems like it would be easy to tap into the puddle lights. Has anybody done this?

Haven’t done it myself but it should be easy enough. Tapping 12v into the puddle lights will also make it only light up when the door is open
