Those of you talking a lot of crap, you must realize you don't speak for the general population on earth.
Just because it ain't your cup of tea, doesn't mean there is no market. Obviously some ideas tend to fail, but there is no long term success without short term failure. That rendering above looks beautiful. Keep it up BMW. From M3 el-camino to M1, you guys are trying hard to satisfy many different "types" customers. Thumbs up.

I would love for BMW to release this, it looks sporty yet boasts a tonne of cargo space and utility, which would be excellent for a professional that works in sales such as real estate etc lugging around signs etc. I'm not a fan of the 5GT so much, but it is classy, the X6 I've found from working in a dealership is quite popular with the real estate agents, as I have multiple clients with 2 they love them so much. |

I've been studying abroad in Europe for the past two and a half months now, and I can definitely confirm this. 5GT's are everywhere in Europe!

- sedan - touring - GT - coupe - gran coupe Wow! Given my habit of changing at least one or two BMWs a year, this could be fun for me to try out the whole range! Just make sure you make as many M3s in the range as possible! |

Don't forget the convertible. Also, there has been mention of the BMW "FAST" concept and even an MPV though those two may actually be the same vehicle.
Also, depending on how you look at it, you could include the X3, X4 and Z4 since they either already use the F3x chassis (X3) or will in the future (X4, Z4). Finally, remember to schedule a trip to China to try out the LWB F3x sedan. |

Looking forward to seeing this come to fruitation. Although the 5GT isnt my favorite looking vehicle, the interior dynamics I love...I think of it as a more versatile 7 series.
My only reservation with this model is that it will surely result in the demise of the 3'er wagon in the U.S. market. I wonder...much like the 5Gt proceeded the F10, if this 3gt will proceed the F30...based on the current production schedule I assume it wont...but who knows.

If I can fold the rear sears down & sleep in it, I guess I might take a look.

Indeed. Another abomination after the 5 series GT and the X6. But it doesn't look (on the renders) AS ugly as the 5 series GT.

So it sounds like the 3 Series GT is going to come out first, before the F30 3-Series sedan, kind of the same way that the 5-Series GT came out months before the standard F10 5-Series Sedan. Cant say im thrilled about that

Where did you hear this at? I thought the sedan was coming first in April for Europe and May for U.S followed by all other models later.

5er GT launched roughly 05/2009 5er Sedan launched roughly 11/09 So about a 6 month difference between the two I get why BMW would want to launch the cars like this, the 3er GT is a new model, and its a nice way to get attention to the car: making it first out of the gate. But why should the sedan get the short end of the stick, its really going to make the wait for the F30 unbearably painful! |

Who am I to disagree with Scott, but I doubt this is true. We know that the E90 will be out of production later this year, so the F30 debut is set for Spring 2012. A 6 month difference would mean the 3GT launches this Fall, and the disguise level of current prototypes alone suggests otherwise. We should have seen FEP cars of the 3GT by now if that was true, like it is the case for the F20 1-series hitting the (European) streets later this year.
All this makes me believe that the F30 will debut first. Best regards, south
