I like the M-Sport a lot, though I'm curious to see how they split up the three lines up -- I'm still not clear on that from the new 1-series unveiling.
Also, I'm very glad to see BMW drop the weight of the F30 over the E90, though sad to see the overall size increase as well. I like it.

+1 The inner end of the headlight sucks, looks way better on that quick PS on page 9. Also, it looks like the intercooler opppening is very narrow Ild take an e90 LCI over this.

At least I agree with your 1st choice...
As for the F30, at first it looked OK but then it looks like someone held an E90 in the middle and grabbed the nose and pulled. Proportions seem off a bit in the pics but maybe in real life it works. I'll hold off on official opinion until I see it in the flesh.

i knew, based on spy photos, i would NOT like the side view - i was right. rear is ok, front is phenominal... hope that in person the package looks much better (have a feeling it will)... also, interior is on top of my expectations.... overall the car is more elegant than aggressive and i miss that in 3 series... hmmm, lets wait for 4 series (have a feeling this is what i need)

Well, let me sum it up from my pow.
E46, had a tad more quality interiour than the E90 imo, specially the seats in the latter looks pretty cheap imo. the new 3 brings alot more premium back to the 3 series, more style, finally a fresh interiour, new lines, i just love it! Further more, the front, side, awsome, very agressive looking, as a BMW should imo! Cons, the rear, looks like the facelift E90/F10, pretty boring imo, it should have it's own personality. But overall, very positive, i didn't think they would make it this good, and i belive they have taken a huge steep regarding design and premium interiour with this new model! And it's lighter as well, as we all have been ranting of. This model will do very well!

sorry, can't share the excitement with all of you.. F30 is a good looking car, but imho E90 with right wheels looks more agrressive than F30 any time of day..
i am not the "new BMW" guy, i am the "off-the-lease BMW" guy.. lately i felt "threatened" by upcoming F30, but after reading this post my anxiety is gone )) the overall shape of F30 is not much different from E90, F30 body lost aggrresiveness with car "nose" being that much further out from front wheels.. central console, i'm sorry, is not going all the way down and looks so juvenile and non-BMW-ish.. particularly on cars with non-black interior.. don't know what they were thinking.. iDrive window again looks feeble and not as cool as E90's.. in a way this is BMW's iPhone 4S, engineering is better, but exterior is the same (actually worse in case of BMW).. and excuse me, what's up with 306HP on F30 335 ? my E90 335 has 300HP, is +6HP supposed to make me excited or something ? and again, as it was said many times before: 7, 5 and 3 series now look the same.. nicely loaded E60 still turns my head.. F10 - not at all... aggressiveness lost.. to conclude, F30 is a nice car, and three years down the road i might find myself driving one... but until then i will be feeling kind of superior in my E90 in presence of F30s.. |

Looks like the E90 and the current Z4 got together and had offspring.
I'm not digging the low front end. I'll reserve final judgement until I see it in person LOVE the seats |

Anything that looks like the z4 front end which this does (swooping down) is not a good thing. Im sorry but any car that resembles a maco shark to me is not attractive. Glad I got in on the last LCI

I'm not a sedan guy but BMW has finally nailed it. The F30 looks fantastic. Love the facia, plus it's aggressive profile, especially how it appears on the Sport Line model. The best styling feature, the way the headlights merge into the kidney grill making it look angry and determined. An element missing in recent 3ER sedans. At first glance without seeing it in person I'm looking forward to ordering a 335i with a black exterior matched with a black interior featuring the red accents.

that straight line that separates the grilles from the hoot is nasty. I noticed it and now I just cant stop seeing it. The hood should be one piece. It looks cheap with that horizontal line.

today is the day that i thought i would hate myself for buying a 2011 e90 m-sport... apparently i was wrong.. I couldnt be happier i got an e90 over this distorted looking f30. Hopefully my opinion doesnt change after i see a few of them on the road like it does with every other car.
I will say i would like to see a lemans blue and an estoril blue comparison in person... until then lemans ftw |
