after downgrading the mcu I have noticed some issues:

1) Menu button does not always switch to Carlinkit. I had to reset it and my phone few times to get it to show up.

2) I was not able to answer any calls as the it won't scroll to the little call pop up. I have not figured out how to answer calls.
---I figured out that i had to hit the UP button on the iDrive controller to select the Pop Up window.

3) in AA the currently selected item overlay was not showing up. had to reboot to fix it.

any thoughts?

I'm thinking about going back to 20.4.2.14. can I use the link from the first page for carlinkit?

There is another setting “alter volume” which I don’t know what it does.

Also, I find the notification sound too loud, any suggestions?

I haven’t used any other MCU so i have no base to compare, but from the short time of use I didn't sense any noticeable lag.

Well I have talked too soon. The System keeps rebooting it's self when ever I start the car or trying to go back to the mmi menu are going back to original system.

As for lag? it's wirless AA so it's not always snappy but nothing major, unless you try to use the dailer (with a whorrible UI) than it takes a sec for it to register a click and move to the next number.

I guess I should have gone with Android Multimedia, it's not perfact but much more fliud.

alter volume controls Maps navigation sounds and such alike without impacting media sound.

I assume U/D means Up Down for idrive knob with up/down capability.

I have a feeling a recent AA update has caused this. A few people on Reddit have the same issue, not sure what head unit they are using. I haven't updated my Andream at all have started experiencing this only recently.

Maybe updating my box might resolve. Not sure. One thing I have learnt is that Google aren't putting much effort into AA and its shows with the numerous bugs introduced every update.

Hi All,

i just brought a Andream CIC. i installed everything and it works great!

However i have no skip forward or back buttons on either the steering wheel or idrive. i press them and NOTHING happends

The other buttons like Call and Siri on the steering wheel work fine!

i have tried the following:
Checked all wiring
tried fitting the optional idrive loom that bypasses the idrive (No difference)
checked jumper switches.
the buttons work fine operating the orginal idrive system

its running the following:

SDK: 25.0.0.5.6.0.0.0
CUST: v2.1.0.5.1.gpe.c
MCU: 20.5.18.17

Please help

Andream told me they are looking into the idrive tilt skip function, i sent them a video explanation a couple of weeks ago, haven't heard yet and really hope they implement this basic feature.

For now you can use the left/right arrows in the radio (those next to number 8).

This was a key feature for me so for now I went back to an old bimmertech firmware that allows the skip function via idrive.

I am very surprised more people here does not comment more on this issue... is a must feature for me.

You can use Siri to skip songs then but guess the plan B is to revert to the Bimmertech firmware until Andream releases an update. Send them a note on this and hopefully they implement it the next release

Yes I fully support this view. I too have the issue of being unable to skip music other than by the arrow buttons. Surely this must be a simple fix for Andream to address

I get a red screen when switching to the carplay unit with the idrive buttons. I can hear it click but it's just a red screen. Has it happened to anybody else? I played around with the switches but couldn't find a combination that works.
When switched to iDrive everything works.
This is on an E60 with 8.8" CIC if it helps.

Hi, im half way through the install for the andream nbt unit on a 2015 420d. Everything seems to be working fine with the exception of the steering wheel scroll button, the others work ok. Also both my iphone and my android work fine wired but i cant seem to connect either wirelessly. Any ideas

There is a setting that you should turn on inside the settings menu. Once activated the buttons and scroll started working fine.

Great got the scroll working now thanks. Any ideas on the wireless set up? Tried diconnecting and reconnecting the Wi-Fi ariel a few times but nothing.

Glad it’s working.

You have to pair Bluetooth, then WiFi auto-connects.

You download the update to a USB drive and then connect it to the USB port on the media harness.
