Hi guys, i've copied downloaded zip file to FAT32 formated pendrive which was used before to update to 2.5.3 version which was ok. Now when try to update to 2.6.1 and after i connect pendrive to device, it doesn't recognize the update and nothing happens. I tried switching pendrive between USB1 and USB2 but no luck. Any1 have similar problem or know what can i do?

Make sure your pen drive is 32Gb or smaller. I upgraded using 16Gb SDCard.

it is actually 6gb and there was no problem earlier with previous version. I think i'll need to try with SD card

I've tried updating the factory_config file as follows, but when I select the option in the GUI, the theme does not change?

Any one know how to stop default music player from playing music on startup? I prefer to use Poweramp. My current favorite setup is running split screen with Poweramp v3 and iGo or Waze.

When you power off the engine you have to be on the idrive side.
Then , the next time you will start your engine , you will be on the idrive again and the automatic media player engagement will not exist.

Try that. But it only change the launch apk for the left music button. It doesn’t change the default media player in ID7 tiles. When boot up in android the default music player still launch and play music.

The automatic launch of the default media player is a very annoying feature.
They could have an option in the factory settings , letting you to choose if you want it or not.

And , of course , the best would be to let you define what app the default media player you like to launch (from the media player tile).

The automatic start of the default audio player must be a new feature built in because: without it you will have an audio bug.
And here we have configured (automaton / tasker / KSW-SoundRestorer / etc ...) so that the default audio player starts to avoid either too low volume or rotten and distorted sound.
In short, the simplest is a PLC or tasker to: launch the default audio player, stop it, kill it, launch the application of your choice (adjust its volume, etc.)

nb: But it's still cool that on the new versions, with the updates, this audio player starts, because it saves you a hell of a bug.
Simply configure PLC or tasker to stop (or pause) it after launching (and then launch your application of course)

I have a temp solution by pointing the default player to play a silent file. Later I'm going to try using automation script to kill the player and load Poweramp v3 to left split screen.

On my HU PX6 on my HU S625 the audio launcher does not start at startup, on my One plus 5T on my Samsung S8 either !!!

If you listen to a song from Androids default player while you turn off the car , then the next time you startup your car , media player starts by it's own.

Cheers to everyone here for all your great advice. Recently encouraged me to get an Avin 10.25 Android 10 unit for my 135i.

Overall, hasn't been too bad but there have been lots of teething issues that I've been working through (i.e. DAB+ suddenly dying). Kinda been two steps forward, one step back.

However one major bug bear - the aftermarket iDrive controller. I've decided I will keep it, but at the moment it has limited functionality since the keys are automatically mapped to pre-determined functions.

Is there any way to remap all the keys (e.g. like a config file to edit)?

I'm primarily running Android Auto through the unit but would love to map the keys to on it to other functions e.g. DAB+ app (if I can get the dongle to work). Also wonder if there is a way to improve the response speed of this aftermarket iDrive unit.

When I travel and I put the browser "google maps" and listen to music with Spotify, when I stop at a gas station to refuel and continue the march after a few minutes, everything has been canceled, the navigation route, the music I was listening to ... this is it normal or need to put a continuous power cable without a lock?
