The Scoob may not be pretty in everyones eyes Davy but there isnt much will pass them. Personally i think they are a stunning car and a real icon. And the soundtrack is terrific. In terms of value now they are incredible. O-60 in 4.4

Well said Robert. There is nothing out there that gives you more power per pound.

Scooby is a great car....bloody hard to run though! Wonder what the 'in gear' performance is between F30 335d and a pro drive scooby.....

Davy, seen another RR sport today.....it's a stunner!

Not sure how accurate these figures are:

http://www.torquestats.com/index.php?car_id=195

But based on what gtsussex has posted the 335d would have it.

You're right Andy, the new RRS is really a great looking car, massive road presence and currently the thing to have. Even outshines the new RR that people spent 80-100k on to get the latest thing last year.

Those figures are for the older 2 litre turbo. From 2006 they used a 2.5 litre which was 286 bhp standard. The pro drive pack took it to 316 but most cars ran ever better. The 2.5 engine had more torque and the response was from around 2600 rpm. The steering is so communicative and they are so easy to control just using the throttle.

The downside is they drink like Oliver Reed on a bender.

Too pricey for me Andy at the moment to be honest, not a huge amount more than the X5 but its a step too far and given the X5 is already probably a few steps too far i've gotta stop somewhere.

Just need to get a car ordered but which car and from where ???? If I could test them all side by side it would be easier but thats kinda impossible without running round the country. Then perhaps I can get some sleep again while the long wait for delivery starts

I feel your pain David, my wife's Mini has sold - even though she still half wants to keep it.

I don't know what to buy. I mentioned your X5 to her but she said she struggles parking the Mini sometimes (women).

What % discounts did you guys get Robert & Andy (if you don't mind me asking pm me if you like)

Sam ,why are you selling the Mini if she wants to keep it, you nasty man
Women and their Minis can be hard to separate!

Only way round that problem is to replace it with something thats really nice.

Alternatively buy something that you really want, buy her a diamond ring for Christmas and she will forgive you everything

Sam don't listen to Davy....I tried the diamond ring trick....only works for a few months before wearing off lol!

Discount I got was just under 17% with Bavarian, prentice got close but couldn't go as low and JKC weren't even in the running and I felt slightly fobbed off....though they did contradict themselves with what they said to Davy and I as Robert got a deal he is happy with.

Best discounts seem to be on another thread, guy with username TMC on babybmw.net forum. Seems to be close to the 20% figure......only found out after I put my order in!! Doh!!

F30, I can't detail my deal which involved me buying 2 cars. I can say I am very pleased with the figures we arrived at and I would happily recommend JKC.

Arrived home tonight to a beautiful sparkling white 330d sitting in the drive courtesy of JKC to play with for the night, or to be more truthful to try out the kids booster seats in.

Beautiful car and the 335d must be really special as the 330d ain't a bit bad!

You did well Andy.

Prof - No problem, it always pays to haggle in my opinion.

David - Glad to see you kissed and made up, is that the 330d that was in the showroom?

I have been playing about with the Configurator online, it seems you can get a 325d msport for £1 per month more than a 320d. Very tempted.

Yes think it possibly was the one in the showroom Sam, white with black leather and about 25 miles on the clock.

Never worry about the 325d, just go for a 330d or 335d if buying a 3 Series. Get it debadged and never let on to your wife lol. Tell her its a great going 320d and you haven't a clue why anyone needs to buy a bigger engine!

Also bought a 120d m sport x drive Davy. My wife had one a few years back and she loved it. The new one will be more powerful and more economical.

120d X Drive should be nice too Robert, exciting times.

Sam, have you considered the M135i? Performance bargain and not too big. Not the best looking but the rest of the package kinda lets you forgive it for its ugly face.
All the cars you are talking about are RWD, that's the one stipulation my wife would have on any car I get her is that it isn't RWD as they are crap in the poor weather.

Lol at your debadging idea Davy. Do you really think women don't have us sussed out? Was your X5 the 1.8 base model in your wife's eyes?

I think that is the one from the showroom, good spec on it you should try and swipe it for the weekend.

Lol, my wife would have no problem using the extra power. The 1 series has actually grown on me. The 135i reminds me too much of a Massey ferguson

An M1 on the other hand is such as an aggressive looking car with the power dome bonnet and the flared arches.
