Car is dropped off...Spoke to the SA he stated my dealer have a done a "few" one of them they were having a hard time because of custom coding. He assured me it should be done today...I'm a little nervous myself quite frankly but am hopeful they do it right.

Nope, I think your right - There isn't anything on there that I'm not showing... but your right - mine is linked properly - because if you can't connect to bmw online, then the send to car feature probably won't work - because it cannot connect to their server to pull the data - that is why I feel the IEM number that I mentioned in the other post isn't setup right for some accounts - they typically use that for allowing the connection in - or that combox has it's own IP address and they are not allowing it in... something of that nature... but the links are not there as you mentioned...

Also, has anyone gone to the BMW Connected Drive on the web for bluetooth and software upgrade and tried typing in the last 7 digits of your VIN? The site does not recognize my VIN anymore.

Just got the car back. Everything seems to be working. I cannot really tell if it is any faster, but it seems faster (The connection). I did get pampered with the new nav and even though I am fine with CIC, I wish I had the the latest and greatest.

I just got mine back as well. They had for about 4hrs and all seems to be working. Tested SOS, Connect Drive, Send to Nav, Remote services. I guess these guys did it right. What else should we be checking for???

I need some clarification. This is driving me nuts. I have a 2013 328i. My vehicle for whatever reason doesn't qualify for the retrofit because my assist expires next month (in December). I've been speaking with BMW assist, BMW genius, and my dealer. They are telling me that regardless the BMW assist feature is being discontinued after 2017 anyways. Is this true? BMW assist and all the remote features are going away entirely? That just doesn't sound right.
The fact that there is no alternative is just driving me nuts. So I can't retrofit nor continue to use the service so I'm just shit out of luck? Am I just in an unfortunate group of BMW owners that are screwed out of remote features because my assist plan wasn't long enough and/or I didn't buy a new enough BMW? SDS0918 - I'm not sure about it being discontinued at the end 2017...that might be some misleading information since you can still buy the package on new cars so I doubt that statement is true.
In regards to yours, I believe there's a cutoff date as to which vehicle qualifies for the retrofit. Since yours is coming to end at December that's probably why it doesn't qualify. You probably want to call BMWNA and ask rather then the "so call" genius because you'll get a different answer every time you speak to a different rep. Good luck!

I just got off the phone with customer relations. I made it pretty clear how upset I was. They kept reiterating that there was nothing that can be done to retrofit my car or any options. What absolute bullshit. Called again and filed a formal complaint. They still gave no alternative. How infuriating that my car which is barely 3 years old doesn't get a retrofit or no other option. She kept saying that they might release the option to have it for those who didn't qualify for the retrofit. But even if they did, it wouldn't be a reasonable price so most wouldn't do it anyways! UGH

Add me as a success story. Took my car for the combox retrofit at BMW Bayside. They had the car for exactly 7 days. Looks like they had issues programming but that was probably attributed to the 2TB sports program I coded in. To resolve the programming issue, they actually replaced my non sport shifter to the sport shifter (that was nice). I lost all of my programming, but all features work well (address send to car, vehicle locator, remote lock/unlock, SOS).

Car went back to the dealer today but was not available for pick up at the end of the day. The dealer is at the mercy of BMW getting back with instructions so will see how long it will take. They were nice enough to give me a brand new 2017 330iX as a loaner.

This has been my experience, too. 2014 320 has been at the dealer better part of 2 weeks. First combox they installed was apparently defective, second combox has been received and installed, but they are having trouble coding the software. Going to reload all of the software remotely by engineers at the factory, according to the dealer. Turning in to quite the project.
