Sure was. Corner of 3rd and Couch (pronounced "cooch") which just adds another layer of hilarity to the story.

Their long island ice teas were deadly. Basically a pint glass of booze with a spritz of Coke for color. I only finished one once. It was my 30th birthday. I ended up passing out on my GF's front porch and woke up with a literal cat fight going on around my head. Good times.

This I know because I too frequented the joint. Used to work off Park and always hated the idea that phonetic English didn't apply to Portlanders so they could keep it weird lol. I grew up there and the best part about it was leaving...

No way! When? I was hanging out there from about 1999 to 2003.

20 years later I still crack up laughing every time I think about one fateful night at the Hung Far Low. There were maybe 6 of us at a booth upstairs. My buddy heads off to the restroom and a few minutes later I realize I have to go too. I walk in and he's in a stall. I take the urinal. I hear him flush, followed by "uh oh." A moment later as he's walking out past he simply and flatly says "Better finish up." Before I could process what he meant I start to see the water flowing around my shoes. He'd somehow managed to simultaneously plug the shitter and bust the handle so the water was stuck on. I got out of there quick and returned to the booth and my long island. A group of girls in what I think was a bachelorette party was closest to the bathroom and saw the flood first. Followed by staff shouting in Mandarin and running in all directions. It was total pandemonium.

I don’t think I was frequenting until the end of your stint but for the life of me I cannot remember the bar tenders name although admittedly I didn’t go a lot. Just maybe once a month or every 6 weeks.
