Shawn,
Can you send me the link for I-Step 15-03-502 psdzdata and E-Sys version 3.24.3 or 3.25.3 ? I know it's trimmed, but my car was recently updated. Thanks! Last edited by TMD29; 04-03-2015 at 06:22 PM.. |

Aaaahhh... HELP
I was coding away happily, but at the last step somehow I managed to write all modules back into ECU, not just the one I was editing. Now I'm getting a "Drivetrain Malfunction" and "Fuel-line error" messages when I turn engine on I tried resetting, but the messages don't go away. Please help...

Thanks Shawn for all the help!!
I just went on a 45 minute coding frenzy. Coded off day time running lights / led, coded foglights to turn on when unlocking, coded foglights to turn on when turning left or right, (directional), turned on keyfob to unlock windows and open windows when holding on unlock/lock. Coded mirrors to close when I lock the car and open when I unlock the car I'm loving this

Connect => Read FA (VO) => Activate FA (VO) => Read SVT (VCM) => Left-Click on KOMBI ECU => Click on "Detect CAF for SWE" => Select cafd_000009c8.caf.006_000_031 from any I-Level shown => Select OK => Right-Click on ECU (the ECU itself not the underlying CAFD) => Select CODE

Hi Shawn,
My car's an F31 from Sept 2013. The car's software has been updated by the dealer early Jan 2015, but I'm not sure (yet) which data version they used. I ordered a cable which will arrive any moment. Can you please PM me the links to the E-Sys software and both the latest PSDZData (55.x) as well as the 54.1 data? Thanks! |

I added (swapped) a new REM to my F30 and injected a new CAFD for it. I used the Connect => Read FA (VO) => Activate FA (VO) => Read SVT (VCM) => Left-Click on REM ECU => Click on Detect CAF for SWE => Select the new CAFD from my I-Level => Select OK => Right-Click on ECU (the ECU itself not the underlying CAFD) => Select CODE
I did it to get rid of a 'Trunk Open' warning on the dash that wouldn't go away. Everything worked, but I was curious about two things: 1) How does E-Sys know what the new hardware is? In the above procedure I had always thought that E-Sys is just reading generic VO option data from a config file and everything is just default data for a standard F30 with my original options. I mean, you even have to manually pick the CAFD file based on your I-Level. So at what point in that procedure does it determine (i.e. probe H/W or read the actual ECU) a new REM has been put in its place? 2) What does it mean when the ECU is colored blue/red below? I believe that showed up right after i selected the new CAFD for my I-Level but just before i clicked on CODE. |
