Halifax is pretty mild, no snow to be found yet, we're also in the positives for temperature wise.

Yes, would not live in the snow and ice. Cold is one thing, freezing however is altogether another thing.

Here in the Washington DC area we are due for icy roads in the am, from rain hitting cold streets after midnight tonight. Then changing to rain afternoon.

People in this area go nuts with 1/4" of snow and the media is hyping it all up as usual.. They've been spreading Brine and salt all over already since last night.
I will gladly stay home til its all over

Our regional National Weather Service *finally* issued a Winter Storm Watch for "up to 7 inches of snow" from Thursday afternoon into Friday morning. (The regional criteria for a Winter Storm Watch is 6+ inches possible.) The NWS regions to the W, N, and E have had their watches up since early this morning, so it's good to see that our regional office is finally in agreement with the others that we're not getting rain out of this incoming storm.....

45 degrees in December in Chicago? That's wild. If it was in the lower 30s, all that rain would be snow. Then we'd be in trouble.

I've been hearing on the news that a lot of other states are either getting hit with blizzards or Tornados. We're lucky here in Chicago we've got neither.

Snowed a couple of days and it's all over, getting warmer at the weekend.

Started raining on the drive to work. By the time I got there, the driveway was a sheet of ice, main roads were fine and heavily salted.

Supposed to turn to snow later..

Warming up a little. 54F right now. High is forecasted to be 60. Low is 40.

Fine by me.

Well, that big, bad snowstorm was a bust in our area! All we got was 33 F and rain yesterday afternoon and overnight.....

Same, lots of rain.. It was icy from 7am-10am or so, but warmed above freezing as the day went on. Even overnight it stayed warm.

If that came down as snow, we would have had at least a foot I'd guess.

Wake up to 4" of wet snow... Another 1" since. We are barely below the freezing point so it might turn to rain.

I'm happy for JJ
I can do without mine every winter if JJ wants mine
I'm not sure if JJ likes shoveling that winter wonderland almost daily

So far it hasn't been to bad my way. I've only had to shovel snow a couple of times this winter. Hopefully it stays like that for the remainder of the winter, but I doubt it.

I’m happy for him too. I know he loves it, like a lot of other people do.

Good for him. Yeah, some people love snow and cold weather, not me, I prefer summer weather any day over winter weather. Winters are so long over here and with the snow and cold weather, it makes it even longer

Yep, I understand. That’s why I like our winters here. Usually somewhere between the 50s and 70s. That’s my kind of weather.

^^ Nights can get colder, though. I've seen them dip into the 30s.
