With over 3k since I picked it up in Munich, my running average is 27.2 MPG. I'm probably about 80/20 highway/city. All in Sport or Sport+. I see 30+ on long highway stints. 335i 6sp by the way.

Running average is in sig - ~26.1 average at 50/50 city / highway - even better than my old E46 330i 5MT.
I got ~33.1 for 350 mi on road trip last week, averaging 65+. I don't drive in Eco Pro much at all and that is designed more to reduce city consumption by limiting pace of acceleration away from lights, etc. I do not think if helps much on highway. |

Im finally getting 27mpg average 70% hwy/30% city in Eco Pro in F30 328i at 1500 mi. I was getting 25 mpg in my E92.. Seriously expected much better with the change from the inline 6. I do remember the E92 gradually got better the more miles it had. Guess there is hope with gas prices going up again.

I did a drive to NC... with a bike on the roof. The second to last one is an error, not sure what happened there.

Driver mod seems to be the biggest factor. If I baby it, I can break 26mpg in city driving, slight change in behavior (a couple spirited sprints) and that will go down to 24 really fast.
Drive aggressively for 25% or more of time, I'm looking at 20. Drive it hard the whole tank.. Well, I got 17 mpg my first half tank. Can easily get 35mpg+ on flat ground on a long highway cruise at if you keep it under 75mph. 335i btw. Carry on. 99% of the time I drive in Comfort. Every now and again I'll use sport+, but dont bother with eco pro or sport. |

My 320d mpg
This is a shot of my iDrive in a 320d after a calm commute to work with little traffic (mid day). My iDrive is in Swedish but I think you can understand what it says anyway
Although this is the best case scenario. I've gotten 3.5 l/100 km () before (67.2 US MPG) but typically with normal-heavy traffic I get around 4-4.5 l/100 km (58.8-52.2 US MPG). I should point out that my daily commute is 90 % highway and rest is in the city. Not bad at all! Super pleased with the consumption, also i'm thinking about getting the M performance kit so it's gonna be 200 hp / 420 Nm of torque (309,7 lb ft). I wonder how that will affect the mpg Last edited by Fille; 02-23-2013 at 02:17 PM.. |

^^^ incredible mpg on that 320d!
I have found that the on board computer generally over estimates mpg by 5-10% compared to an actual pump calculation. |

Nevertheless ~60 mpg is awesome for this car. Even when you drive really sporty on some country roads you get about ~40-45 mpg Last edited by Fille; 02-23-2013 at 02:17 PM.. |

Turbos aren't terribly efficient under high load compared to a larger displacement (turbocharged or not) car... If you demand a particular level of performance, it's not surprising that your fuel economy can be worse.
Plus, don't trust how us random Internet commentators characterize our driving habits. I think the definition of "city" and "spirited" driving varies a lot from person to person. |

I'm getting around the same mileage with 400 extra lbs, 20% drivetrain loss, winter tires, 20 degree temps, a supercharged V6 and mashing the gas every chance I get. Something seems wrong.
