Shawn I am confused. Some say you cant VO code with the engine on you must use a constant power source others say you can. What modules can or cant you VO code with the engine on? Thanks for the help.

"20) Ensure Car has adequate power and is switched on. *NOTE: A continuous power source of at least 12.6 Volts is needed. Failure to maintain proper voltage can lead to corruption of ECU Data. As such, ideally the car is connected to an external charger. In lieu of using an external charger, the car can instead be coded with the engine running in order to maintain proper voltage, which is acceptable for coding all ECU's EXCEPT the DME (Digital Motor Electronics) ECU or DDE (Digital Diesel Electronics) ECU. The DME/DDE are typically not coded anyway, so this ECU limitation is generally not an issue."[/QUOTE]

I seem to be having trouble with tool32. I hit f3 and loaded "F01.PRG" but it just hangs on a white window.. I have both K-DCAN cable and OBD cable, does it matter which to use a I have tried both.
I am basically trying to clear an error code "Driver restraint system" as I had to start the car with no air bag connected. Any help is much appreciated. Edit: Ran tool32 as administrator and with my OBD cable, all fixed sorry for the double post!

Shawni have enet and the latest data files.
I changed my airbags and cant seem to flash the ACSM. I tried one of the tutorials online and it completed in 2 seconds but with the same airbag errors. Can i have the version of tool32 that can do the clearing? Thanks |

About a year ago I retrofitted an m sport steering wheel. So last week I was driving on a bumpy road and suddenly the airbag light comes on. When I got home I opened up the steering wheel and apparantly I didn't secure one of the connectors and it got a little loose. I secured it properly but the warning stays on the dash. Would it be possible to clear the faultcode with this? |
