Thanks for pulling this thread out of the dirt....

Yeah... looking back: i kinda went overboard with the photos... got myself a tad overly excited.... After close to 6000 miles since redelivery, my car is just like any other car. It's fast, but not as fast as i wish, and it does have that slight turbo lag in low revs... I really dont like the stock suspension... i want to make it stiffer, as in Luxury 335i configuration, it's wobbly and bouncy. i am just frustrated i am not able to exploit the full potential of this car... using this car as a commute machine is making both the car and i very sad... Here are a few photo of late: close to 3 months and almost 6000 miles since redelivery...

... i know it's stupid...
part of me want to yank the ED plate out (because i am simply no longer in Germany) part of me want to yank the California plate out and just leave the ED plate (but the cops would be too happy to give me a citation for it, and my insurance is already sky high as is, i just cannot afford to pay anymore to the government... and Gas is about to kill me) Why do i have 2 licence plates ? (and none up-front ?? LOL) i must be retarded... and a bit of a show off, to point out that i did an Euro Delivery... I know it's stupid... before getting this car, i thought it was stupid when seeing other people doing it... and told myself, i would never do it... Turns out, never say never Anyways, I am getting a personalized licence plate very soon... so i will have to do something about this... I should make a vote: 1) leave the ED plate together with the CA plate 2) simply take out the ED plate

Keep the ED plate! That's where your car was born!
Don't forget your roots mate!

Nah I would take out the ED plate, too cheesy... But that's just me. Also not too sleek having 2 plates on top of each other like that. What's up with not having a front plate in CA, can't you be fined for that?
BTW you say car is too slow? Then that you can't exploit its full potential as a DD... So which is it? As far as the suspensions it looks like dynamic was the way to go. I'm also concerned (lol) about your interior my friend. I've seen beige leather after a couple years and it's not pretty. Well even black leather after a while starts looking a little choppy. Let me guess this is a lease? I will keep the leatherette on mine, I like the no-maintenance/looking perfect after 10 years thing. I will buy and keep the car. |

Quite an exciting journey. Nice to be able to share it with you family.
Have you considered upgrading your suspension? The M Performance upgrade should be coming up shortly also. Between the two, it may give you that little bit of edge your looking for. The car's still looking good. |

Simply amazing sir. Congrats on your car and your trip and thank you for all those great shots. Europe has been on my life list and I'm not getting any younger (47), you really woke up my appetite to travel there again.

Great trip and great shots. I have been to many of the places you visited. There are some great pics of Lindau on the Bodensee on page 1. One of my fav spots in Germany.
Next time you go to Italy send me a PM. Milan & Genoa are both forgettable but close to great spots. Next time skip Milan & go to Lake Orta, Lake Como Lake Maggiore or Lugano. Skip Genoa and see Portofino, Santa Margherita Ligure & Cinque Terre. The sign above the big flower pot/ trash can looking thing says, Io sono un fragolina di bosco... I am a little strawberry plant Non c'è un cestino per spazzatura Not a waste basket for trash Hence the little plant inside. |

Thanks to all of you !
I am very happy this thread is cheering you up ! I just wanted to share my experience, something you really dont get to do everyday. This is just to give back to the community, one where i always like to come back to, checking everyone's car. Please continue to enjoy them photos... even for myself, whenever i come back to look at them, it reminds me of the trip. Here are a few photos taken during the holidays:

I want to ask some Europeans on this forum... I see some street parked cars are literally inches (centimeters) away from car in front of and behind them. Those cars are physically impossible to pull out without hitting the other car. Is getting bumper to bumper hit common in Europe?
Just in case, in the States, street parking is rather rare except big cities like LA |

hitting each other's bumper is not only expected, but required... a parking spot is such a hot commodity overthere, the least you are going to worry about is your bumper... :P
i am so glad i live here now : (photos moved from post #330 from the previous page)
