M-Sport Tracking Thread

Got notification that mine's on the California Highway bound for Brunswick, GA on 8/15!

When I ordered my car, I tried to include option 3DZ (Without lines designation outside), but my dealer said their system did not understand that code. My CA said not to worry about it, since such badges were easy to remove, if I so desired.

So far, the pics posted by m-sport buyers have not had the "M Sport" badge on the outside of their cars. I have seen sport line cars that do have that badge, though, so I don't know what to expect.

Is it a case where BMW was putting the "lines" badge on the cars for 2012, but then decided not to do it for 2013?

US models (whether '12 or '13) do not have the "lines" badge on the exterior. Canadian models do, however. No worries - your car will not have it.

I find BMWs choices for different parts of the world bewildering, sometimes. Thanks for the clarification.

Totally understand - I was furious that US F30 328i models cannot get 19" wheels from the factory, not even on M Sport (& it WAS possible to do a +1 wheel upgrade on '11 328i). Makes no sense.

Why not?
It's an option in US cars. Both sport line and Msport have the 19" option.

There is a thread that 19's are out of stock for now.
Maybe that's why you couldn't order them, at least not until they get more.

On the Msport I actually like the 18's more, personal preference really.
The 19's look good too, but I just prefer the 18's.

In US, you cannot get factory 19" wheels on F30 328i, only on 335i.

This is true I asked. The only option is to go with "after sales" bmw offerings.

in status 150 as of Friday 8/3, but 800# says "completion date of 8/30"! thats insane, 4 weeks out?.but in 150 status?... also have VIN# is vin issued before car begins some sort of production? or is that only issued after something has started with the build process?. help!!

the factory is closed for much of August for summer holiday, so it sounds right. Vin# is issued at purchase of the build slot, before production.

so why would the site and 800# list the car as "in production" from now...even with the factory closed from 8/13-8/24?...wouldnt it just be in 112 status until after they re-open?

Im not sure how it works, meaning if they start cars and then the factory closes with cars mid-production, or if they just stop the line if they cant start and complete a build prior to holiday. The 800s and the web are not updated as best as we'd like, the best way to find status is to simply contact your CA, they will tell you immediately as to the real status and where it is in the process, mine gave me all the updates as I moved from start to finish to port to now on the way home

CA said the same thing this morning----sent me a VIR printout--says status 150---he said it went to 150 on Friday.

Sweet.. suddenly showed up on a truck this AM unexpectedly.. total time from production to dealer delivery only 33 days.. Wow!

Took delivery of my 335 m sport today . What a beauty. Almost 8 weeks to the day and worth the wait! Got the mineral gray metallic ..black Dakota leather , 19 " wheels. Premium sound and alot of other goodies. Getting tinted and will post some pictures. Take my word for it. M package is the way to go!

My CA called me Thursday saying my car had just arrived at their Georgia port. Said I'd be able to take delivery sometime this week. Can't wait!
