Still no $200 giftcard.. it's been about 15 weeks.. awful customer service. I keep getting the runaround that the demand has been very high, slight delay.. blah blah blah. Anyone else?

What else do I need to do? I went to my dealer on 12-27 and had it deactivated for the $200 gift card.

It's been 9 weeks.

I have a feeling that my dealer ship is trying to fuck me when asked about it they told me my car is "to new" my build date is 2013/9 any one else have a 2014 with a 2013 build date

Just got an email stating that the $200 gift card will be shipping soon and will be arriving shortly, and apologies for the delay as well as thanking for the patience. I'm sure everybody got or is about to get the same email, just wanted to update, I guess a couple more weeks...

I got the email as well. They're probably tired of everyone calling in and asking when their card is going to arrive. I do wonder what was the actual reason for the delay. I've waited over 16 weeks which I would imagine is plenty of time to fulfill what seems to be an easy task.

Had mine retrofitted back on 11/1 and since then I cannot send commands to the car or destinations via the iOS app. I am able to make an SOS call and it give the coordinates of the vehicle. Dealer has done everything that BMW has asked. The dealer now says that BMW won't even give them any guidance on where to proceed next. I am still under the 4 year factory warranty till August.

This has been the worst initial impression with BMW Assist and BMW corporate. The dealer has been great, but the other 2 not so much.

I bought my 2013 e92 M3 with warranty and service till August 2017. I wanted to continue the BMW Assist. I elected to continue and had the car retrofitted with the new 4G Comm box. The dealer has tried repeatedly to connect the box but still nothing. Like you, I'm able to make SOS calls but the car cannot be registered in the BMW App. Every time I try to register the car in the App, it tells me that the service has been deactivated for this VIN.

It has been very frustrating, both for me and my Dealer. I have also called numerous times BMW assist and they keep telling me that the car needs to have the Comm box upgraded, which we've already done

Yeah it's good to have the SOS and all, but I used the app all the time for directions. Very pathetic.

Conversion/Update Scheduled

I have been traveling a bunch and am just getting around to scheduling my 535i X-Drive for the BMW Assist Upgrade.

I go in on Thursday, June 1 at 7:30am at Bobby Rahal BMW in Pittsburgh.

Hopefully, they have learned how to do them and it will not take more than a day and if lucky, no re-coding of my previously coded will be needed.

Reading through the entire thread, I am glad I have been too busy and out of the country for a while, maybe the job is more straight forward now.

Thanks for the thread, a great help.

I'll keep you posted.

Mine had the same issue, they thought the install went correctly, SOS worked etc. Turns out it wasn't done properly though. Have you gone to connected drive online and made sure your VIN is on your account? That's when I noticed something wasn't right. Would try to re-add the VIN to our account (multiple BMWs in our family) and it gave some error message. Dealer ended up having to work with the engineers in Germany as well as the folks at Connected Drive (had to create a new service agreement for connected drive) to finally get it all working right. Took a couple extra visits, but they finally got it done correctly. App works just fine now, can lock/unlock doors with it, send directions to NAV, etc.

Previous owner of my car elected to get the gift card. So I asked the Dealer if they could perform the upgrade if I paid for it. Dealer said no, and BMW Customer Service said yes. BMW Customer Service offered to speak to the Dealer, but I didn't want to go that route if it wasn't necessary. Other forums thought perhaps the dealer had difficulty performing the upgrade and didn't want to do an upgrade that wasn't mandatory. If the Dealer is having difficulty I'll wait a while until they get the hang of it. This is of course an assumption that the Dealership lacks the requisite proficiency. Do any of you think there may be another entirely different issue I may not be considering?

Should be fixed for free, pain in the ass though. Someone had said either on this or another thread on the same subject they hadn't received their $200 card. I think that card is cash vs $300 BMW gift card. I guess they meant they'd rather get a check.
