I presume your iDrive main menu has tiles (iDrive 6) and not text (iDrive 4), therefore screen no. 65506822626 should work, however the back may not be a 100% fit for your dash. |

Update: installed a F3x 626 part number alpine non touch screen today. The fitment was perfect with no gap on my 2018 230i. I did have to code it differently then others have instructed. I used BimmerCode and coded the following-
Head Unit (HU_NBT) (Expert mode) - 3005 DISPLY_PIP_CONFIG * CID_DISPLAY_SIZE - 2. 8.8 * CID_DISPLAY_RES - 2. 1280x480 Note: When I initially installed the screen it said no signal. After coding as other said in previous posts (EX_BOX - Brites Display) the screen went blank and my audio stopped working. I panicked a little, but realized that the display resolution option wasn't there. I dug around a bit and found the options above with display also in the title preceded by CID which seemed relevant. Crossed my fingers and tried it after coding the brites display option back to what it was before. It booted up beautiful once the coding competed. Now I'm curious if the touch screen might actually work on the 2018s +. There is an option under the same area to code touch screen active |

Sorry, I forgot that HU_ENTRYNAV2 requires a slightly different coding:
DISPLY_PIP_CONFIG:
EDIT: You can try to enable touch, but it won't work, since it requires a different hardware and a touch-enabled screen, which nobody got to work with your head unit, yet... Enjoy the larger screen! |

If you see the option, you can try changing it if it makes any difference and let us know. EDIT: Here is the link to the original post (I can't edit my previous post which had the link garbled up). |

Is someone in Florida (Miami Dade or Broward County area) willing to help me with the 8.8" Navigation Screen physical swap???
My 435i has the 6" stock one. Also, I am interested in coding it, too. PM please. Thank you everyone! Last edited by Miami305; 03-02-2019 at 02:24 PM.. |

I’ve read some slithers in the many pages about the 10.25” screen. What’s needed to make this work? Some suggestions dash needs to be cut but others saying straight swap. I’ve got a late 2014 pre-LCI with business Nav, looking at the 8.8 LCI screen but the 10.25 looks tasty!

Both the 8.8" and 10.25" screens have the same resolution, the latter is just larger . Last edited by MarkoSK; 03-21-2019 at 04:32 PM.. Reason: Fixed link |

Need help finding exchangeable 8.8 screen
Hi,
I have the 6550 9270393 6.5” screen with Hu_NBT on a ‘16 328i. Any one know which 8.8” screen I can retro? I tried looking at realoem.com but there isn’t one listed for 8.8” exchangeable. Or am I just reading it incorrectly? Thanks |

I just tried swapping in a Pre LCI screen from a F30 market as L7 CID High. Doesn't work. I am assuming I need to source a LCI screen without the blue tint, and transfer the back plastic over? I have read the voltage differences are the main issue? I tried swapping the back plastic cover from my F22, but it wont work as the L7 CID High casting is too thick and it wont fit. Gonna try sourcing the LCI screen next- hopefully that will accept the back plastic and the voltage should be correct. |

EDIT: To be on the safe side, try screen no. 9292248, it should work on all cars made 2014-2017. The screen from a 2018 430i may not work, but you can try if you can. |

I've found your previous posts in another topic - you can double-check the coding via eSys (and not BimmerCode) to make sure it was done right, or the screen may be defective (happed to people a couple of times) or, in a rare case, only the older screen (non-LCI) will work (only one member reported this and his car was from 2014 I think).
EDIT: My F34 has the same head unit as you have (was produced just a couple of days before your car), and the LCI screen works okay, so try what I've suggested above in order to pinpoint the issue. Last edited by MarkoSK; 05-30-2019 at 07:22 AM.. |

Regarding BimmerCode I almost 100% sure it is fine since when I closed the app and turned off the engine and then did a reconnect, after the scanning it showed the correct values. So maybe indeed (somehow) the screen is defective, or I have some special case and need to check it with pre-LCI screen?! P.S. I just want to add that my car containes retrofitted (by BMW dealer authorized company) rear view camera and back parking (proximity) sensors. According to my knowledge at least rear view camera is not genuine BMW camera. From Germany car came without them, and official BMW dealer gave me them for free. I see some box (in a size of package of ciggaretes) connected to head unit, maybe it realted to mentioned retrofits and is there any change that actually it causes this issue? If you can, try to connect the screen directly to the head unit, there's a chance that the MMI unit is not compatible with the higher resolution. Some MMI units have a DIP switch somewhere (in the back?) with which you can change the resolution from 6.5" to 8.8", otherwise they cause issues. You'll need to get a manual for that particular model to know which switch to toggle. |

Just succeeded to make it work! Briefly: indeed it required single DIP switch change in order to adjust output size from MMI unit. Less briefly: So I checked the box mentioned by you and indeed it was MMI module for rear view camera which is pretty impressive. It is called "SDS ANDROID BOX-A4C" and has the following inputs/outputs: - GPS antenna - GSM antenna - LVDS in - LVDS out - SIM Card - USB - Option DS - SD Card - Mic - Speaker - Front camera - Rear camera - Auxilary Right - Auxilary Left - DIP switches (Here all the magic happens) The first thing I did it was to code again widescreen and connect it directly to head unit. Screen started to work, it was like a magic. So indeed issue was with MMI unit configuration. I checked the reverse, only parking sensors worked taking whole the screen, no rear view camera (makes sense since MMI was not connected to head unit at this moment). Then connected again the MMI module to head unit, and replaced 6.5 screen which currently connected to MMI output to new one 8.8. I didn't find documentation for this specific MMI module DIP configuration on the internet so started to adjust all the DIP switches one by one, nothing happened, black screen. Did it again, but this time with some delay of 10-15 seconds between each attempt, and on one before the last switch screen started to work (appears that it takes a time for MMI to use new screen size output). Immediately checked the rear view camera, it was fully functional. It was great, like to receive a new toy when you are kid! So thank you very much for your hint it was very helpful! 6822626 from a 2018 430i and it didnt work- said no signal. Upon further research it has to do with an incompatible apix type/voltage 9292248 from a 2013 328i didn't work either- I had a black screen when connected. Didn't want to mess with coding so I returned it. My car is a 2015 228i 01/2015 build with a factory installed LK CID 8.8 High from Kyocera |
