Hope we get some confirmation on the M-Sport requirement soon. I went with the sport line, but would have chosen M-Sport if they had made that requirement clear. I'll be pretty upset if I can't get it on a sport line.

All,
I recently drove the M135i. It is an amazing machine. Clearly it has the same engine and gearbox as the 335i, however the software (together with some modest hardware changes and less weight) makes it far more fun to drive! It sounds awasome, shifts perfect and seems to be quite quicker in the first 100 meters. My question: Does anyone know if, after installing the M Performance Power Kit, the car software of the 335i is comparable to the M135i? Will in (sport mode) the character of the 335i be comparable to its smaller brother? Clearly it will have a bit more power, but will the character of the drivetrain (gas response, (lower) gear selection, shifting, etc) change? Does anyone already have installed the M Performance Power Kit on the 335i? Many thanks! |

Going back to what I mentioned earlier - that friend of mine who put the E9x N55 PPK in his car said that the 20HP gain was underrated - felt more like 40, according to him. Wonder what the pricing will be here in the US?

My car has arrived from the factory so I just went down there to order the PPK for it. It will be set up when I get back from a business trip in a week. Kit was around a 1K euro, installation only 80 Euro. Sure am glad I am VAT exempt.

The Dinan tune is being worked on. It should be available by late summer. They have one for the N55 for the last generation which gave an extra 100 ft lbs of torque and about 50 extra HP. I talked to the techs in my local performance centre - they are anxiously awaiting release of both products as the demand from folks like us is huge.

LOL underrated horsepower for a Tune...Now i've heard everything! 2k for a tune and some cosmetics under the hood sounds STEEP!
I would pay 500 bucks for 20hp tune...but that's about it. Last edited by SwnSng; 03-15-2013 at 12:28 PM.. |

And when the motor blows and its not covered under warranty? Worth that $500? BTW PPK is not going to be anywhere near 2k. Lot closer to 1k.

Extra Extra! This just in:
•M-Sport is required to install the PPK •Only the M Sport gets additional cooling features from the factory (larger radiator fan/relay, auxiliary water/oil coolers). None of the other lines receive these required cooling features. •The (under rated) HP and torque gains are the same as the Power Kit on the E9x. Bulletin to announce the Power Kit availability will hopefully go out by the end of the month! With the PPK, Exhaust, M-Performance Suspension and brakes, we are able to create our own unofficial M335i. |

As much as I have liked Dinan in the past, I think I may go for this PPK this time around.

That is definitely true, but in comparison to the potential cost of blown motors due to people over pushing cars that do not have the additional cooling capabilities, the numbers will likely even out

Glad I bought the M-sport. We are also very lucky here in Canada to be able to get the m-sport brakes for a cheap $500. The rotors aren't drilled but they are bigger and the calipers are the same as the M-performance ones. |

No, you don't get them in the US. You have to pay the full price for the M-performance brakes. Don't know why BMW didn't let the US market have them. Probably a marketing move - more chance of M-performance brake sales perhaps.

Isn't there alot of msport guys with limp mode issues due to the fans? Maybe that's why it got pushed back so many times from the November initial date? |

Aha...M PERFORMANCE brakes...not M-Sport. Gotcha. I think I've seen those somewhere like getbmwparts.com, but they weren't listed under options or accessories when ordering. I'll just stay with what I've got, as I don't plan on hot-dogging it too much. At least not for awhile.
