Quaife will act like an open differential if a drive wheel gets airborne. This really isn't a concern on the street though.

I'm rock bottom depressed the MP LSD for F36/435i is discontinued
Are there no alternatives where I do not have to trade in my stock diff for mutilation, but rather buy an entire aftermarket lsd diff for F36 - anyone? Thanks! |

Diffsonline has a core option.

The f80/82 differential IS a different ratio, so theoretically using an m5 differential would solve that problem..... accept for the fact they are electronic limited slips that default to open when not electronically charged.
The electronic control needs 30amp signal from a electirc motor controller which applies force to the internal clutchpacks. This ramps to an elimination of Differential action which is basically useless without a computer controller. HTG had made a differential controller. Overall, less tuning, it should be far less expensive than diffsonline but far more work. Ask me how I know.... 😆 |
