As far as I understand all LCI F30s outside of USA have the B48, while in USA they kept using the N20 for a while for some reason.

That's so dumb. I wonder if there is any major difference between the 2 in terms of performance, safety, maintenance, etc

So really that article is just a educated guess up lol..We all won't know how the B's will hold up in the long term, till someone own's or they do a max stress testing on one of these. For now i will keep my N20 and hopefully after i get my huge paycheck in 6-7yrs from now, i am gonna see my local tuner and get my internals built and a custom tune, amongst other exterior mods (i.e. Vinyl Wrapping, Apex Wheels, M-Sport kits, and lots of HydroDipping lol)...

Yeah my car is 2018 320xi and it's N20 lol. I picked it up because I loved the Mediterranean Blue but had no idea it was N20 not B48 lol. It was the South African version as well.

I got the back box removed on my 430i B48 engine and added custom tailpipes with a diffuser. It sounds amazing, not too loud but in no way is it quiet.
I think it's a good alternative to a full system which would cost in the thousands. |
