On a slightly related note, I've recently ordered a 335d shadow edition and want to be able to use spotify without plugging my iPhone in. I was told I'd be able to do so (even though haven't specced EBT). Anyone know if that is correct?
Yes you can - it only seems to work via Bluetooth (i.e. not when plugged in and bluetooth turned off). And it's pretty good too. I didn't spec EBT either.

Make sure you have the BMW Connected App installed too though, that seems to be the catalyst to make it all play nicely.

Can use my OE napster account on any device but the only thing it syncs is playlists

Don't think they get deleted but I'm not sure what happens when the hard drive is full. Deleting tracks is a nightmare - 1 by 1!

Hope this helps
Napster - Maybe i am being really stupid but how do you add an album to your favourites from within the car? I can only seem to add tracks.

If it's anything like Deezer you need to 'favourite' them from the phone app first. Then they sync with the car and appear as saved albums/tracks/playlist

I'll have a go with that. Thanks.

I have just signed up for Deezer and i thinks its really good. You dont need your phone plugged in (or at all actually) as its all done via the car sim card. Tracks are downloaded in a couple of seconds and quality is fine for me. You just select the heart symbol to add to your favorites and they automatically appear in the car.

I'm using Deezer with the BMW 1 month for £1 trial of online entertainment and I am really impressed with it. The tracks download quickly and the sound quality is really good - not sure I will renew and pay £160 for 12 months as I have a Spotify family subscription already.

I'm on the £1 deezer trial too, so far everything on Spotify is on there. So no complaints, I just missed the black friday deal cors I don't want to pay 160 so hopefully they throw another 40 percent off deal on boxing day sales and maybe I might get it since my Spotify in 120 a year anyways.

Yes I like Deezer too. Everything works how it's supposed to, unlike Spotify which is temperamental at times particularly after the latest update. The scroll wheel on the steering wheel for example selects the correct track with Deezer, whereas with Spotify you have to choose the track before the one you want for it to work!

I have a Deezer promotion for 3 months free. Will it work as Deezer is actually signed up through BMW?

I've just signed up to Deezer free for a year . I think it's great. And as already mentioned much easier loading tracks on a laptop then listening in the car. I doubt I will be paying £160 for a second year though.

I've been using Napster for years - at home on the Sonos and on the phone when out and about - so it was the obvious choice for Online Entertainment.

It works really well in the car, very little lag when first selecting a track, the quality is good and I have access to my play lists - although I think it only handles 20 playlists (why?)
