There are many reasons for leasing. Some folks can get a good write off on their taxes if they're a contractor or own a business. Some folks just like to go in and out of different cars every couple years. And some folks just can't afford a car, so they lease it since the payments are lower.

In terms of owning, 10k of equity in a car you own will mean absolutely nothing in 1 year. Cars (after computers) is probably the single most worst investment you can make in terms of equity. THAT BEING SAID, I bought mine as well. Even though I could benefit from a lease since I have my own company. The reason why I don't lease.... I just like to own my cars. Plain and simple. I've owned all my cars. There's just great satisfaction when you don't have to pay for it anymore.

Hey how did my happy little thread about ordering a car get turned in to a debate on leasing?

I demand all the attention here!

On it's way to the port!

Sweet! Good news. How much longer until you can actually drive it?

There we go. Back on topic!

Don Juan departs Bremerhaven Apr 12 arrives NY Apr 25
Grand Mercury departs Apr 18 arrives NY May 2

I am hoping to get on either one of those and should have it shortly after that. I am only about 5 hours from NY.
