This was meant to be posted over in this thread last night, but alas. Link to the power chart in case you were interested.

I'm definatly in on both the Exhaust and the Tune for the 428.
Thank you for the prompt response. I have contacted my local Dinan Dealer in Sewickley Pa for the install when it is available. Ordering the Exhaust now and the Tune in a couple weeks when it comes out. Thanks again for the information. Larry C |

Very interesting. Looking forward to details on the electronic waste gate version. 312/330 are pretty impressive.

Most likely the ecu will be transferable as that is essentially the base framework with no ties to a specific platform. A generation or two down the line of bmw's may not be compatible as I can't predict the future of plug types and engines but in general terms the ecu should be transferable. The harness is questionable as depending on the engine, typically the harness varies. A 328 harness is different from a 335 harness which is different from a 550 harness which is different than a m3 harness for example. The generation issue like with the ecu could also come into play with the harness since plugs/receptacles may change down the line. The software almost always will never be transferable. A f30 328i mechanical waste gate tune/ software will only work with that car. So unless you change vehicles to the same thing you had before it is not transferrable. The other thing to consider is the warranty is tied to the software and it's associated vin so if that was important regardless of if it was the same vehicle, new software would need to be purchased. |

So this gives 312/330 while the MPPK for 335i gives 320/332.
335 with mppk hits 0-60 in 4.8s. 328 with JB4 map 1 which claims 270whp/300wtq can't hit 0-60 even in 5.0. Actually I am curious how this tune turns out. Last edited by MyFragileHalogen; 10-16-2014 at 03:44 AM.. |

Comparing the BMW rated numbers of 240/260 with their readout of 312/330 is about as misleading as it gets without technically lying. This tune does not give you +72hp/+70trq, and does not buy you 335 mppk engine power (it sure would be nice if it did). I'm not trying to hit on Dinan here - the warranty they offer adds value and I am potentially interested in buying it. The way they present the numbers though is worryingly shady. |

Even with turbo motors, there is ultimately no replacement for displacement with all else equal... All that being said, 0-60 is a pretty poor representation of performance, especially with so many possible differences in the nature of those runs. Quote:
By the way Dinan, I went to your F30 335i tuner page to compare the dyno charts and it's showing the 328i chart image FYI. |

@Dinan_Engineering,
I have some queries, how can I reach you through email? Basically, I am based in Singapore, so I do not suppose your warranty covers for me. If I do not need the warranty, does the price change? Or can I work out something for the warranty to be included? What is the return policy like if it does not turn out to be the product that I would expect (given the figures on the website). |
