Car is stock yes. Only BMS Stage 2 with Map 1 = 20psi. (This is +3 psi, as stock is 17psi). Map 2 is 21 psi (+4psi) and map 7 is 23 psi (+6psi). I need the flex fuel wires for more boost than map 1, as the car is running slightly lean on map 1 with my fuel mix. 20% ethanol 95/E5 and 80% 95RON pump fuel. The ethanol is the same grade we use here in our gas appliances. We do not have E85 in our country. |

Do you happen to know the weight of your car? It can't be much more than 100-150lbs lighter than an F30 328 which is 3350-3450lbs.

I would just start with a 20% mix with not more than +4psi on Stage 1. That's what I used to run when I only had stage 1 and it worked fine. I would not mix more than 20% on Stage 1 with more boost, as you can run the risk of running way too lean AFR.

So I think I did pretty bad with the mods I have...
2013 328i xDrive with sport auto tranny BMS Stage 1 aFe Cat-back Exhaust aFe Intake aFe Intake Scoop I put the car in Sport + and tranny in sport auto. It was around 85 with high humidity. I'm the left side...that was my best time of the night. Based on the stock times I've seen from magazines, the mods I put on my car pretty much did nothing. Stock this car runs 13.8-14.1 at 97.7-98.2! |

The heat and humidity did you no favors. But what about launching the car and shift points? I am guessing you did not launch at a very aggressive RPM. The intake, scoops, likely do nothing. The catback is worth maybe a few hp, you are relying all on the BMS basically which should net a 3-5 tenth improvement. You had less than an ideal environment. I would say your car driven to its potential in better weather should net a 13.4-13.6 at 102-104.

+1 Agreed..... Launch is everything. When at the strip again, try running 20% ethanol mix with +6psi boost and you will see a noticeable difference. Standard my car made 169kw and 319nm. With BMS Stage 1 my car made 189kw and 389nm with +3.5psi and 95RON pump fuel only. With the 20 %ethanol mix and +6psi, the car made 204kw and 404nm. |

Even a 6mt RWD car gets launched at higher than 1500rpms. The point of Xdrive being FASTER in 0-60 is by taking advantage of the traction at launch. If you do not, your times will be slower than a RWD car. With your low RPM launch and hot/humid weather, your car would have done more like a 14.4+ with out the tune. So it helped. But to get full benefit and get 13's, you are going to need a more aggressive launch. But hey, at least you made it out to the strip. Most talk about their mods and how fast the car is and never dare to make a single pass.

^ moving the shifter to the left puts the tranny is sport mode which holds the revs longer. When you track your car you put it in Sport + and move shifter to the left.

Your 2.0 60's are hurting you.
I ran my 328xi (Msport, non sport trans) the other weekend and was cutting 1.8 60' on the stall (~3k). My best run was 13.93 @ 98mph. My worst 60' was 1.98. Almost a 1.8x every time. That was BMS stage 1 tune at +3psi only. stock intake, exhaust only has a axle back race pipe which has no power gains. |

Just to let you all know....
With 224kw and 444nm I did that 12.7 1/4 mile time. After installing my flex fuel wires and using map 7 on the JB4 stage 2, I managed an awesome 239.7kw and 508nm. I am doing a 1/4 mile event in 3 weeks time and will see what my 1/4 mile time is with the added power. |
