I have no problem with the M3 looks. It's a bit derivative Jag/Audi but that's fine. The only bit that I don't get on with is the low windscreen. It's all a bit exposed looking. But haven't driven one, maybe that actually gives you a MG-B like view of the road and makes it all interesting.

I really like the look of that EV6 and it's not outrageously priced either. It'll be interesting to see what the 585bhp version is like and how much it shortens the range.

Interesting Chris, thanks for sharing
Can easily see myself in an EV in three-four years time when I change the Mazda, by which stage things will have doubtless progressed a bit more with the national charging infrastructure.

Booked in to the launch event at my local Kia dealer for the EV6 in October. Thought I might as well go and have a look at one. I've been in a few different Tesla's and a Taycan that friends own. My brother has an ipace and so far none of these have struck me as decent value for money unless they're company cars (which all of the above are). The ioniq and EV6 seem like they may be more mainstream family car orientated so worth a look.

Hardly apples to apples but if you consider it offers more performance and tech (albeit whether you like that tech) for the money than say a 340i … and THEN throw in the fuel savings. M3 LR undercuts a recent quote I've had for both a 440i and 330i MSport Pro model.

I keep driving past that Tesla place ( the old Ford garage ) - it looks very strange and run down - thought they might have tidied it up a-bit even if it's only a service place!

Offers pretty limited for the time being, but interested to see it in the flesh so to speak. |

I also just saw that Lease Loco are about £100 a month cheaper than Tesla themselves so things just hit even easier to get into one.

Cribbs Causeway (mall near here) has large areas looking a lot like that, I guess the cars ready for delivery. Seems so odd that they are just in a public car park.

But personally I'm not looking to be an early adopter with any of this EV stuff anyway - I suspect things will change quite significantly over the next 4 or 5 years so I'm happy to enjoy a nice petrol ICE for the time being and see how things develop! |

5 yards to the right is a new (well to me anyway) Tesla Delivery and Service Centre. Its just some posh tents really but seems thats all it needs! They are installing 20 Superchargers at t he Traff Centre and gearing up for 150 cars a week delivery.

It'll be interesting to see how Tesla drivers are affected when they open up the Supercharger network to non Tesla EV's in the coming year. It would properly annoy me if I pulled up in a £120k model X to find I have to queue for 2 hours behind a line of Honda e's.

Also there's no queuing for hours its 1/2 hr max charge time and then some nice hefty fees kick in for Idle Fees. Qtr on Qtr the network will improve. Of course what we all want it just for it to be a perfect scenario with access for all and common adapters / plus and sites that work well! It will take some time but home charging will do me and would probably use the train for visits >3hr drive anyway now.

I’m 2000 into EV ownership and haven’t used a public charger yet.
Can’t really see why Tesla want to give access to their chargers to everyone as that is one of their advantages but no doubt there are deeper reasons. |

I've always thought that they would rather supplant Shell then General Motors, and that was the game plan.
