My guess is that switching the DME won't fool the dealer. The DME which you put in when going to the dealer will show it hasn't been used for what ever time you had the other DME in the car. There may be other ways they can tell too, but best of luck.

I'd assume you'd need to use your cloned one for a tune, since they probably detect a change in serial number or something like that on the DME.
