Maybe it is a boat but that should not matter. This is a modern interpretation of an interstate burning musclecar. Well worth the asking price i think.

Maybe they'll cut out the hood insulation, or maybe the ash tray, decontent the tool kit, delete the glovebox flashlight, or perhaps downgrade the stereo...

It's impressive, but slower than a 335 in real world driving... It would make an awesome mustang if they'd put in an independent rear suspension...

???So an M3 must be slower then also.......correct? Honestly people read up on the car, or better yet, actually go drive one before you place foot in mouth! The 335 would be no match for this car in straight line or in the turns, and certainly not on any road course where the 335i will overheat after a couple hot laps.

Not true at all. If you actually ever drove one, you'd know it.

This is identical to what happened to the first GT-R they put on the dyno.

Funny games the car makers are playing.

Similar to the bullsh*t ring times they are putting up.

Funny, mine didn't on a 2.9 mile 15turn texas course over 2 weekend days no less. Oil Temp gauge never went over 265.

Its gonna have a LOT to do with the max speeds and number of slow turns. Generalizations are dangerous.

While I believe you, it is a fair statement. Overheating issues at the track have been documented by not only owners, but it happened to Car and Driver when they tested the car against the G37. Pretty disappointing for those expecting the 335 to be a track car, which it is not.

True. Regardless of what most on these forums say deriding CD, they don't baby their test vehicles. They drive them very hard - probably at least as hard as would be seen at a full track session. I think their test car was a manual sport - so it should have had an OC. But kind of hard to say after that...

And I agree the n54/e9x is not a track car as delivered. But very few cars are. And most of the common limitations (such as brakes) were not a problem in my experience. Having said that the N54 is not completely inept on the track when CD is at the wheel -
http://www.caranddriver.com/var/ezfl...75bda77559.xls

90 percent of the time, the limitations are not the vehicle. Its the driver. Most of the cars can't be driven (BY THEIR OWNERS) anywhere near 9/10s without driver error - all it takes is one miscue on downshift setting up for a turn and you have a yard sale in the making. A porsche cayman went through a fence and a s2000 went end over end during the weekend I was there. A step n54/e9x, can generate some impressive lap times and still not overtax the hardware (OR driver).
