The E36/7 is holding up very well as it is and will continue to age gracefully. The president's wife(a real car snob) came up to me in my car this summer and asked if it was the NEW Z. When I explained it was 15 years old she stepped back and could not believe it.

A few months ago Roundel interviewed a BMW designer who has had a great career including the Z3. They asked him about what BMWs he has. He listed the Z3. He said not only is it great to look at, he commends it for what a pure driving experience it is.

Navy blue....sure

Look at the BMW blues. Interlagos, Montecarlo, deep sea, tanzanite.....those are good blues. I don't think a 18 year old girl who's getting a new civic for her birthday wants a car in those colours, but she's gonna love EBII.

I wanna love EBII because I don want my car to be bland and plain and BMW offers so few choices aside from the drab old typical colours that EBII is an attractive option, but when I saw it in person it ddnt do it for me.

Maybe if I see a couple on the road I will change my mind, but in the showroom it was not for me.

I think maybe you're an 18 year old girl since you know so much what an 18 year old girl would like. Also, do you even know what Monte Carlo looks like?

Very similar to EBII lol.

I was driving this car before:

Many bmw owners think Z4 roadster is girly and maldives blue is more girly than that and beige top is much more girly than that))))but I loved that car and and specifically wanted that color combo So my vote is obvious EB is not girly and best color for f30 but is flashy though.

Estoril Blue isn't girly, it's awkward.

What do you mean by awkward?

Btw, maybe we should expand this topic to discuss EBII w/ Black leather vs. EBII w/ beige leather? What's the forum's consensus? I'm personally debating those two options (along with Mineral Gray / Coral Red), although EBII is winning at this point.

It's trying to do too much. Under perfect indoor lighting it looks really good. But in the great outdoors it looks baby blue and purple.

That was in relation to the topic of roadsters.

Way to quote out of context.

Baby blue. Purple.

EBII looks great under the halogen lights in the showroom, but out in the wild it can be a different story. The F30 is an extremely glossy, curvy, reflective car. To get that precise shade of blue, BMW clearly mixed some purple into the paint. Under certain lighting conditions, it can look like it has a purple haze. This is not much different than the Sparkling Graphite BMW used on the E90.

I think switching to darker wheels, CF mirrors and tint sharpens the contrast and works well on this car. The silver wheels lighten the overall presentation.

My EB 328i is neither manly nor girly. It is MAGNIFICENT. One can only gain a true appreciation of the colour (color) when you see it for real. The metallic flecks in the paintwork react to different lighting conditions, subtly changing the way the car looks.

In addition, the black accents around the outside works so well with the colour, competing a very well (visually) designed car.

My car:
