Since someone brought it up BMS is hard at work on their F30 intake as well. They are probably still at least a couple months out though. I'll post some photos when I'm allowed to. I know they are targeting the same price as their E90 N55 intake though, around $199 retail.

Mike
well, that'll make me wait till then! Hopefully you'll have JB4 stage 2 officially released by then too, so I can order both at the same time

I contacted them directly and was able to go ahead and get my order placed. It will ship out as soon as it is available.

If anyone else wants to as well, Shaun said to contact him directly and his e-mail is ssnow@afepower.com and the price is $449 shipped.

Its interesting also to see that open filter and sealed filter produce similar power gains.

Also, is the M-PPK Intake Silencer better than the InJen CAI and this aFe intake?

Looks to be the composition of the filter. If you click the icons above the drop down it gives you more info.

- The Pro 5R is a pre oiled air filter element and the Pro Dry S is whats knows as a dry flow air filter element, I believe. I do not know the performance difference between the two, but from a cleaning prospective the pre oiled element needs to be washed then re oiled and the dry flow element just needs to be washed. Both must be left to dry before re installation. Also the dry flow makes sense if your worried about getting filter element oil on your sensors.

How much horsepower should you get for $471 with the exception of a tune?

I have been modding cars for a long time on many different platforms. Very rarely do intakes make advertised power. Not to mention the stock design is one of the best I have seen. When I see a third party dyno that has no financial interest in this I will take it seriously.

exactly!

The AFE is basically the stock intake with a conical filter...yes, there is more flow (150 vs. 200), which is due to the larger surface area of the revised filter...I think an AFE drop in would give you the same effect.
