I reckon at least an hour is spent just trying to pick the paper off the sticky part of the tape. Repeat that a few times and you're looking at a few hundred just trying to find the ends

True, that'll take at least two hours of hard driving to make sure none of it falls off

Don't do it. I have lived with 20's on my 335d for 6 months and yes they look good, but every pothole, man hole cover or dint in the road brings the suspension crashing into the car with an excruciating thud. The run flats don't help, maybe normal tyres would be more forgiving.

It really is horrid. Best BMW option to totally ruin a car. Genius.

Me: I'd stick with 18" rims but I can understand that many have ordered the M Sport+ package which throws in the 19" rims. The other consideration is that the 19" rims have machined faces which can be problematic due to corrosion around the hub cap area.

I have the M sport + but have placed an order for the 405's in 20".
If they are going to be terribly bad, then i still have time to cancel. Owners of the 20's comments would be greatly appreciated. Would you change to 19's given the opportunity? |

After today's ride, I am 100% certain that 20" wheels are for those who enjoy being tortured.

RJBerry is probably the most qualified person to ask as he has had an F30 on 19's and now has the 20's.
I have tried 19" and 18" back to back in F30's (I was concerned 19's might be too much), and could hardly tell the difference. Would the jump to 20 be that much different? The 20's are physically lighter than the 19's, which helps with suspension control. My advice....a number of dealers have the M kitted cars as demos. Find one and go for a test drive to see for yourself. |
