Agree - old-style plates do look plain and dull. Like you, I go abroad 4-5 times a year and personally think that stick-on magnetic GB tags are chavvy.

I think the Euro-plates cause an imbalance by pushing the only characters that are required by law in the UK, to the right. I am conscious that I've created a thread about something with little consequence but I feel I'm in good company.
