Hard to put from third not knowing what the others do and the race will hold in the closing stages. I don’t think this was a bad call. FIA wouldn’t allow anyone but Red Bull to win anyway. 😊

I think Max is a straight foreward no bullshit guy that has a racing style that reminds me of Senna on the track.

He spoke out the strongest of all drivers about the whole SAI debacle and about the fans being swindled, not allowed access to their seats and not being properly compensated. "I would've completely trashed the place" (but in dutch...)

Not the opinions of the driver post race in an interview, but rather his on track antics. Taking needless points from a teammate, a very supprlortive one as a matter of spite. He is talented no doubt, but deserves zero respect as a result of his actions.

Looking to the cooldown scenes, it's clear Max and LEC don't have the strong rivalry they had as kids (everyone knows the video on youtube), but now there's proper mutual respect for eachother racing skills.
They're practically neighbours now of course.

But now that's a closed case for Max, he tried to help Checo today, risking his own position to a certain extend at least.
And in the end he doesn't need to help Checo. He drives for RB. Checo is just a teammate, a potential competitor.
And pretty much all racing drivers are like that, unless you're called Bottas, Barichello or something with a B at least.
The thing F1 drivers do on track is pretty much always out of self interest.

A leopard never changes its spots. It is what it is and we have a couple more years of red bull at the helm to prepare for. Strap in and watch the situation worsen. At least from the sporting side of a long term fan.

No team should have control like this. It’s bad for the sport. BOP should be enforced to add ballast to winners until performance is equalized.

Toto Wolff must be hyperventilating: despite the Sainz 10-places grid penalty, the 20 points gap in the WCC was reduced to a 4 points gap (392 points for Mercedes - 388 points for Ferrari).

Hopefully Ferrari can grab #2 in the WCC next week in Abu Dhabi.
