I am trying to find an entry in the IHKA that will cause the A/C compressor to turn on even though the AC button (snowflake) is not illuminated. I'm assuming there is a code somewhere here that perhaps sets the IHKA system to dehumidify the air after the car has been started up when cold. I've taken the car in to the dealership and even opened a case with BMW but they now insist it is 'normal' behavior for the AC compressor to kick on even though it is set off. It gets annoying since it'll cool the interior of the car way below the set temp. Anyway, I just don't read German so I don't know what is what. Can anyone assist?

Hi, Ive done a good bit of coding on e90/92s with great success. Some guys in my club are wanting me to branch out into the F world for their cars.
I have the enet cable, and i think a good copy of e-sys. I cant seem to find a link for the datafiles however, even after searching through this thread. It seems the links are being PMed.. Can someone hook me up with the link in a PM please. Thanks in advance! |

Anyone have an idea where to find settings to make the rear windows auto-up work? Not sure why mine don't work, since other F30s in the US do. I don't want to have the dealer fix it, because I would have re-code everything else.

Hi Shawn,
Car has been serviced by dealer, updated the software and wiped all coding settings (again). Could you please send me the link to new e-sys and data files with instructions to get a token? I think you should be able to PM me, but if not, please use mod2133 AT gmail DOT com. many thanks! |

I have a 2013 328i, which just had new seat frames installed by the dealer (rusty seats). I would like code several changes in my car, and would appreciate a PM with a pointer to ESYS files and token.
Thanks much! Jerry |

"Coding" is changing data variables that controls how the ECU / car behaves. This is analogous to editing the registry in Windows. Note: If you are a programmer, the term "coding" here is misleading, you are NOT changing the programming when you "code a car". Coding is pretty safe as you are usually just enabling / disabling things that are already programmed into the software, but only available in other geographies. Flashing (re-burning the EEPROM) with new software is dangerous in that if the flashing fails, your ECU may be "bricked" (you've turned your useful electronic module into a brick, i.e. less useful). A bricked ECU can sometimes be brought back to life, but sometime it has to be physically replaced too. Some people flash their ECUs to force updates that they want, they have retrofit an ECU that needs upgrading, or they don't want to pay the dealer to do it. |

Couple other questions I'm looking for: 1) Any way to 'code' while not plugged into car then load them all in at once? ie a mass dump vice going into each CAF? 2) In "getting started coding" pdf step 9 says to 'save or not to save'. If I hit save, does this essentially backup my original 'codes'? 3) If taking car to dealer, any way to restore to defaults? Or do I have to go back to each CAF I edited then revert back? Thanks |

http://www.f30post.com/forums/showpo...postcount=4387 2) No. It saves only a copy of your original FA (VO). 3) VO Code each ECU or your entire SVT with original factory FA (VO). DO NOT use the "CODE DEFAULTS" button in E-Sys, or you will regret it.

You have to post an email or wait until you can receive PM's.
