Any idea if it's possible to make the Activehybrid blurble like a 335i? (Shifting sound and overrun blurble). AH3 doesnt make any blurble sound at all.

Connect your laptop to OBD.
Under "Dashboard" you have a blue square in the top right corner "log". Here you can start/ stop logging during running.
The logs are stored until deleted by you.

You might have to pause your firewall.
Allow Scripts under Internet settings.
You can copy / paste the "log" link if you allow pop-ups.

For those of you that have been BM3 for awhile now, what's your experiences taking your cars into BMW for service?

Im sold on the BM3 performance aspect, but I'm worried about my warranty being voided...

If any of you can chime in as to why your car was in service, any comments from an advisor, and the outcome.

No matter what kind of flash you have, the Dealer (if they're smart enough) can find out that the car is tuned. But I don't think the give a f....

If you want a worry free warranty period - then DONT give the dealer any excuse to void it - simple right?

Now go ahead and buy that BM3 - you are going to eventually anyway

If only it was that simple...

Say my iDrive takes a shit, or my HUD stops working. What's to stop them from scanning the car, seeing the DME was tampered with and flashed, and them telling me to kick rocks?

They can't legally deny warranty coverage unless they can prove that the flash tune is responsible for the problem. Not likely with the iDrive or HUD examples provided. Maybe with something drivetrain related, but even then, the burden of proof is on them.

This better answers my question. Thanks

In addition, under what circumstances can they see that you DME was tampered with?
Is it as simple as scanning it?
When going in for service, is it as simple as flashing not back to stock via the Bluetooth module? And if so is there still any trace of the BM3?

Exactly - very simple. If you dont want to take that risk - then dont tune your car

Obvious statement is obvious.

I'm asking for BM3 owner experiences with their service center. Simple as that....

Yeah, there's a flash counter on the DME. A dealer who bothers to look will see that the DME has been reflashed X number of times, stock tune or not.

When I discussed my BM3 tune with someone at the service department at my local dealership, their response was, "Cool, you'll have to let me drive it."

I thought BM3 did not trip the flash counter? I know most other flashes do...

Then downloaded the BM3 RPi3 agent image: https://www.dropbox.com/s/hvt2vrbhgu...18.img.gz?dl=0

Finally, I modified the wireless client info on the device to connect to my phone's existing hotspot SSID: https://bootmod3.atlassian.net/wiki/...structions.pdf

After that, hook it up to your OBD2 ethernet cable, power it up via USB, and enjoy!
Thank you for these instructions.

Anyone looking to use their iPhone's personal hotspot, please be sure to rename your phone first. Mine was called "XXX's iPhone" but wpa_supplicant parsed it with some crazy hex strings so it refused to connect.

You can change your phone name in the Settings > About > Name.

Laptop OBD Agent Update:

We've added a slight update to laptop based OBD agent interface. When started on a Mac you can now follow along on the status information as it connects which can be convenient. Same update is there on Windows and double clicking the start.bat file doesn't start the other console window anymore.

As usual you can grab the latest OBD Agent update from our dropbox here:

Getting bm3 in July (along with other goodies), super excited! I'm not sure if this has been asked/answered or if it's possible - can traction control be fully disabled?

Hold down the traction control button until you see DSC off.

Also, couldn't resist BM3 huh?
