Unlikely....VW will pay stiff penalties, but the consumer can refuse the ECU flash...it's a question if the state can refuse to renew your registration...

A fix is probably years out....doubt a simple ECU flash will solve this issue...

I think 3 months before Obama leaves office the stock market is going to tank.
China is weak, so is Europe...

Why not, it passes emissions fine when it goes into clean mode?

Can you guys save your actual tune or buy a used ECU to swap later?

Used VW ECU market is now the hottest growth sector on the planet

Really depends on how the states handle registration renewals....IMHO. They may require each affected VIN to be recalled to be registered.

You can always refuse the service at the dealership and take your chances with a local inspection station too...

Both my Vee Dubs are DPF and AdBlue free at the moment. And thankfully, NC is only a safety inspection state for diesels.

The F8x Gen is still too new. No vendor has anything in stock. After I smashed my first lip (truck flew something in my way while I was passing it), it took two months to get a new one. I was fortunate enough to get a loaner lip from Sam for that time. He's too used to my tiny ocd by now.

Patience my friend, you'll get it. At least Sam doesn't hand out bs timetables like so many others.

Btw, I saw the pics of your latest modification. When I grow up, I want to be you.
