2019 BMW X5  [0.00]
Hey guys, Just got into nodding my 2019 b58 x5. Did the catless dp, intake and JB4 but just found a shop to unlock the DME so I can flash with MHD or BM3, still undecided. The 2019 x5 has the b58tu, so am I completely safe running an E30 mix? Based off the info available, I assume so, but have yet to find anyone in a g05 doing it. Any information would be great! Thanks

TU pump will reliably run up to E45~E50 without cuts. Of course you would need an E30 tune to be safe running the mix.

Why are you installing a p800 if you don't even know that

1, the TU pump is going to bottleneck you way before the injectors

2, there aren't bigger injectors.

Small market update:
Spool FX180 has been discontinued and replaced by the FX200. Flows a bit more fuel and they suggest running their Stage 3 LPFP. They now offer a fuel line for additional $100 if you don’t want to bend and use your original.

The upcoming Spool Performance FX-350 HPFP will be interesting to see. It’s good to see R&D for the HPFP on this platform continue.

The DS2 and FX200 are already at the limits of what our stock injectors can flow. Spool and another company are R&Ding upgraded injectors for this platform. Only alternative is to go port injection right now. There is only so much fuel you can flow at redline with these injectors.

Yea, I figured injectors on these car won’t have too much head room even with a sophisticated HPFP. It’s good to hear upgraded direct injectors are coming out. Can’t wait to see the results of the FX-350 HPFP paired with upgraded direct injectors.

Looks perfectly fine to me? There is a gasket there, so an even gap is normal. I assume you used the correct torque to tighten it?

! HPFP Left out

So here's the deal. I committed to the expenses involved with common upgraded parts and software. What I forgot to include in my budget is the most expensive piece to this upgrade project. In preparation of Stage 2 on G30 540i I have gathered the following:

Tune: License from BM3 (Stage 2)
Catless: VRSF
Cold Intake: MST

It is my understanding that the item I forgot to include in my purchases is required to run Stage 2. To what degree, if any, is there a benefit to installing the Catless and Cold Air without the fuel pump and without the Stage 2 tune?

It is also my understanding that any hpfp will be a minimum of $1100 - $1600. Are there less expensive options available? It may be a difficult decision to invest another $1K for the added whp, but if absolutely necessary, I've come this far and will do it, but daaaaannng!

Any thoughts, concerns, ideas, experiences would all be appreciated.

Thanks you guys!

To run stage 2 from BM3, theres no HPFP upgrade required. Once you go to stage 2+, then you need an upgraded HPFP. I'm running BM3 stage 2 with just a downpipe and no other mods.

If you want, you can get a TU pump (from the gen2 B58) for about $500 that should be more than capable unless you plan on upgrading your turbo at some point.

Stage 2 fuel pumps (from dorsch and other brands) are in the $1,000 range and typically necessary on upgraded turbo cars and cars wanted to run a high ethanol blend.

Pump pressures

Guys - I was hooning around today and heating things up so I could park the car and check for leaky injectors. Monitoring HPFP target versus actual. Is this big of a delta normal? Running a recently intsalled TUPump on a GEN1 B58.

Max target pressure = 2883 psig
Max actual pressure = 3066 psig

Need to know if I should be concerned because that looks like a big delta to me.

Although one has to say, that even with an upgraded turbo, the TU pump is sufficient, if you are not aiming more than 600hp (crank).

Got some crappy fuel where I am so need to run extra E.

Question

Good morning,

Currently in France (SP98 max) with an M140i Xdrive stage 2 (MHD OTS) I am equipped with MASATA decatalizer and BMC air filter. The announced power is 450 hp with this configuration (B58 GEN1)

Question: Can I hope to reach (approximately) 500hp with the Stage2+ HPFP card from MHD and this pump (TU supra) please?

Not on RON 98 fuel. 450-460 is the max you can achieve with RON 98 on Stage 2+
You need RON 102 or Ethanol blends (E30/E40) for more than that.
