They've actually added the front spoiler, side skirts, rear diffuser and rear spoiler. Not to my taste but ETTO. Considering that I'm surprised that the price they are asking isn't a bit higher compared with the £25k they paid.

Will make someone a good car as it was well looked after.
The same dealer bought my 335d last year. They did the same - took a standard car and added the standard boy racer kit. No doubt the next owner will add 22” chrome wheels, quad exhausts and a Cosworth style spoiler…. BMWs don’t age gracefully

There were definitely some dealers doing that when I was looking, and for good reason. When I'd made the jump from deciding FFRR's were too much of a (re)liability and started looking at 335d F31's, one of the first I looked at online was a white one with the 20" wheels and the black lip/side decals, and it really jumped out to the point where I was tempted to drive south to look at it. But when I started looking and researching in detail I realised what they were doing to make an otherwise poverty spec car seem desirable and charge top whack for it. And if you did just buy on 'I like the look of that' without looking too closely at the details then you would likely fall for it.

its the M performance kit which is available from the factory. I'd hardly class it as boy racer kit.

No move on WBAC for mine this week. But motorway's estimate is up £2.5k and now over £2k ahead of WBAC.

I havent done the motorway thing yet as not sure I could resist if it offered more than I paid for it, I'd convince myself I could slum it with the Mini until things were back to normal.....and then order something else!

I think you could do that or a swap into something different and cheaper.

I would move mine on for any number of cars at the current value. If they didn't work long term then I would swap again. But the little voice on my shoulder isn't so easily swayed - she just thinks that every car swap is money down the drain. And happy wife…happy life. On the other hand, she's happy with the Highlander and that's by far the most realistic long term option anyway given it's size and packaging.

I dont have that little voice. And I could manage with the Mini but not sure my Mum can get in and out of it anymore....

Whisper it but apart from an Alpina (D3ST, stupid price) the only other one that appeals is a Merc GLB35. The Merc is the right size and shape - and fast enough. A GLA 45S would be too harsh and racy I think. The Alpina is just scratching another itch.

But a RAV 4 PHEV is probably all I really need these days, get rid of the Mini too and buy it outright....

(goes off to convince himself that prices wont collapse in next 6 months and that means 6 months to see if business picks up...)

I really like the GLB, it crossed my mind the other day as a potential option. Probably in milder form than a 45 as I'm not as racy as you accountants

ETA. Sorry I see you said 35, I confused with the GLA mention.

To be honest, not much as racy as accountants....

I'd take a GLB 350 with a 6 cylinder diesel but they dont offer it. I reckon the 35 is enough in real life, I imagine the GLA45S to be a bit of a hooligan....probably favoured by the sales and ops types...

Feels like prices are going to be silly for another 12-18 months - the silicon supply issues show no real signs of improvement.

My Dad has just sold his 2017 X5 40d. He bought it about 3 years ago for about £43.4k, done 10,000 miles in it (still under 18k miles overall!) and we just sold it to Sytner for a smidge over £40k!

They've now got it listed at £45k.

He's looking for something a little smaller now with more comfortable ride quality. The only issue is the replacement car is also going to be strong money

Father in law is a few months into a GLB, it's a GLB 220d in AMG Premium Plus trim. It's a nice place to be and I like it way more than I thought I would. FIL loves it.

Can see how in GLB35 guise it would tick plenty of boxes.

Mat Watson reviewed the GLB35, his conclusion was you'd be better with the non-AMG versions & save some ££.

I think the GLB45 might be a more hardcore option, particularly if you want performance with 7 seats, but I'll stick with my M40i thanks...

WBAC are offering £39,745 for it, which probably means they should both be on the forecourt at £44-45k. Still a pretty wild price for a used Golf, but the original £60k example is insane. You can get a new BMW M3 for £63k on the forces/NHS/teachers scheme...

Apparently MB have lodged a patent in the US for the MLB45 and mules were been seen testing at the 'Ring last year.

It may be the case that the 45 has been shelved given the events of the past 18 months, but there was certainly intent to launch it at some point.

If I owned my m340 with tech pack and 2.5k miles on it, according to motorway I could flog it with them and have enough to buy another one same age with visibility, tech and comfort pack with only 150 miles and have 1k left over....
Nuts.

I'm glad I'm getting mine for about £36K (with options). Standard Drive the Deal discount.

Just need to wait another bloody 4-5 months for it.
Was told yesterday by the dealer build has now move to Dec - but that is unconfirmed and could change.

Seriously thinking of keeping the order but buying another new car to tide me over, something like the wife's Fiesta. Then flog it when the Golf comes and hope the 2nd hand prices hold up. Bit of a gamble though.
