Hey guys, at which pressure (PSI) is the limit of the TU pump? Actually, I'm running 25 PSI without ethanol, but would like to kow how much buffer I have. I guess it should be somewhere around 26-27 PSI, right?

Nobody can really answer that question. The limit is based on airflow, not pressure. And airflow varies depending on the turbo amongst other things. Log your tune to know if you're hitting the limit or not.

Torque Settings

Morning, can i get people's thoughts on the torque setting discussed in ITSA+ as i have seen differing opinions on forums.

I have seen people saying they snap the bolts often when tighten to the below torque settings (Is this becuse they didnt replace the M10's)

the M10's on mine are of differing types see below photo.

Also i see that for the HPFP that the Torque settings are different for inlet/outlet & Rail connections as follows

Inlet side of the HPFP = 26Nm
Outlet side & Rail connections 26Nm

Are people following these above or just tightning to feel? (Don't like that idea on the M10's given its a strut)

Cheers

TF

I've never personally torqued these to spec, just tighten the hell out of them and called it a day. Never had an issue. Only thing I've torqued to spec is mounting the actual HPFP.

On another note, damn, I forgot about this post completely. Maybe when I have some time I'll go through and update this post. Been years since I've been active here.

HPFP and Ethanol

Hi Guys,

Recently joined this forum. Sorry if this question might have been asked already.
Currently have done the following mods on a 440iX GC LCI with the MPPSK:
- Catless DP
- Stage 1 Dorch HPFP
- MST cold air intake
- XHP stage 3

Currently running a custom stage 2 tune by Mosselman Turbo systems (one of if not the best BMW tuner in The Netherlands).

My question is since i have an upgrade HPFP can i run an E30 mix without a flex fuel? I read on a couple threads that the ECU automatically changes the AFR etc. But this is limited to a max of E30 and not more. Can somebody confirm this please.

If you have a corresponding tune, you can even run E85! The ECU adjusts according to your tune! What you have read is valid for stock tune.
If your tune is not E30, then there would be no point of doing it and potentially some harm. Flex fuel has little to do with it - flex fuel adjusts the map on the go according to your E content. Without it, you need to manually ensure fuel and map match.

I'm sorry guys i read a whole lotta posts maybe 2/5 of this thread. I have scowered the innerwebs and am wonderinng since i am currently running bm3 stage 2 it asks in the customization about hpfp and one of the choices is da1 or dorsh 1 or 15 is an option.

I live in japan rather okinawa and we get zero eth here, and am curious if dorsh 1.5 or whatever on 93 oct (pump gas only) makes any difference?? I appreciate the replys that are informative, domo domo domo domo.

On 93 oct (RON98) there is barely any difference with the TU HPFP. Basically if that is all you plan do drive as fuel - an upgrade of HPFP is not worth it and if - the TU is more than enough.

So on pump gas (93) what are my best options for making any more power or speed on stock turbo (b58 early gen 440i rwd)? Next month I'm planning stickier rear tires and xHP trans tune. Tanx all!!

Tanx dude, i got stock air box, paradigm airbox hose and drop in high flow filter, catless dp, next week will do no res midpipe 3" exhaust back with bm3 stage 2. It moves but missing some traction so next month plan on getting stickier trackHawk tires and trans tune. I was thinking hpfp but don't have access to Ethanol here so not sure what else i can do safely on stock turbo?? Sorry to blow up this thread.

Really not the right thread for general tuning discussions but short answer - there isn’t anything more you can do (other than turbo upgrade) - maybe a custom tune, to squeeze out the last drops, if any. You are hitting the limits of your fuel. A HPFP may improve performance minimally midrange, but not in terms of max power. Not on 93 OCT that is.
