I'm all for choice, so go wild BMW build what you think will bring new $'s.
But please, as others have pointed out what is wrong with the options for choosing leg room and storage space ala carte from your existing menu of not nearly as ugly cars? F30 Need more storage F31 Need more leg room F10 / F30 LWB (China) Need more leg room and more storage F11 That's ignoring anything with an X in the name!

Not as bad as I was expecting, but still an insult to one of the greatest looking cars about.

f30 - sports sedan/compact executive/benchmark, right? f31 - for people that need more practicality but don't want to compromise the driving experience x3 (f25) - for people that want ever more practicality, even if it costs them some of the driving experience. so the f34 would be yet another step between the f31 and the x3. That's the niche of the niche. This is just my personal opinion, but i'd rather have bmw spend the development costs for the f34 in improving their electric steering system across the entire range instead. |

I did not think a minute about this GT before today. The more I see and read about it, the more I like it. I was planning to Get a F31 this fall, but now Im seriously considering this thing

I'm curious to see how this looks in a side-by-side comparison to the F30 and F31. I personally think the 3 series looks best in F31 M-Sport trim. I don't really mind this car as long as BMW continues to give us the F31 too.

Oh dear why waste time launching this when more of a market for 4 series. Maybe it's aimed at Chinese market where long wheelbase 3 sells well?
Ok as upmarket taxi for going to the airport! |

Not as bad as I thought it whould be, but it's really big since it'e 20cm longer than the F30.
But what's up with the boomerang on the front side fender.

My wife and I saw a 5 GT last night and she said "What the F$ck is that", I have seen 2 of them around Chicago since they came out. 3 GT looks a little better but still, WHY?
If you want the leg room, get a 5 series! The 3GT is basically a 5 wagon with less cargo space, right? is there really a market for that? maybe around the world but not in the US, don't bring this crap here, bring the M Performance cars here. |
