Brings back memories of the wife kangarooing the E46 convertible to work and back 🙈
It must be this car she insisted, so it turned into an E93 😭 which was just the same. That was the end of the real M cars on our drive : |

What!?! What M car do you have now? I've owned all of them minus the e30 and the e92 is by far my fav. It has such a dual personality and the intake/exhaust note is on another level from other M3s.

Mine spent most of the time in the workshop, with the longest stay being almost 3 months. Sold it eventually, and found out the new owner had major engine damage, I believe it was was bearings and a crank damage. Coincidentally, a friend of mine purchased one a few years later and he too has the vary same issue. |

Glad I’m not the only one that has also lost it. Same reason why I just I bought a 4th f8x; M3cs. S58 engine is not bad and will make power once cracked, it’s just the sum of all of the other (unnecessary) changes and parts that kill it for me. All IMO.

Personally I think the e36 looks a bit dull and boring, awkward phase after the e30 which was a stunner in the looks department. The e36 is the only M3 that didn't get wider fenders than the base 3 series, the main exterior differences are the bumpers, skirts and mirrors.
My order of prettiness from best to worst: E30, E46 (tied, both excellent in their own ways) F8x (this gen pains me because I like 2-door cars in general, yet the M4 didn't get the gorgeous hip lines of the M3) E92 E90 E36 G8x

Pretty close. I think it looks a little better on the F80 because the rear door isn't as curved and the lip is a tiny bit wider.

Every time I see a photo of a G80 that's exactly what I think. Maybe it's not as bad in person, I'll have to see one to know. |

My M3 infatuation began with the E46, it was the car I properly learned how to drive a manual on. My lust for 3 pedals hasn't faded since and my F80 will probably be my favorite M I've ever owned based on the direction BMW is headed. Watching this video, I would love an opportunity to test drive the all the earlier gen M3's, there just timeless.
