5K M2 engines all day.
But most of those engines are listed by Ghassen Automotive who is a sketchy as hell company and should be avoided at all costs.

Oh, I don't know anything about them - what's the backround story here?

Lol just do a google search, check for threads on here, etc. There's cases where people supposedly received bad engines, or ordered a built engine only to find it was a stock unit, etc.

The funny thing is I grew up on OK, and when I saw that yard/shop was in Perkins I instantly knew it had to be a BS motor. I don't think there are even any BMW's in that little crap town, much less ready to go S55 & N55's sitting around for $5k!

New (used) m235i engine is in! Now just need to put a few things back together, change and fill fluids and I'll try to start it up! Not sure if I will run into any issues with the keys or MHD licensing issues with the dme (using original dme from 435i)

p.s turbo inlet pipe broke at some point taking og engine out, had to order a replacement, opt'd with an FTP inlet pipe!

$5700 is a really good deal. It seems hard to find used engines these days.

Definitely, even with the age on these N engines, I couldn't find a f-series variant with a decent mileage/history for less than 5 grand!

Hope they come down a few years from now, they make for cool project swaps, IF the price was in a better range.

I would just change to the CTS/MST inlet and look into a good fuel pump upgrade while you can

Did you do rod bearings while you had the engine out?
I'm ordering acl bearings and stock rod bolts this week.

I would absolutely prime for free insurance. Shouldn't take more than a few minutes to insure air is out of the system since the oil cooler lines were disconnected.

Did you switch rod bearings while the engine was out?

I did not switch out the bearings, still on the fence, current engine is 54k miles so I don't think they'll be in that bad of shape, i will leave them stock until further notice.

Update : Engine is running ! Having random misfires in cylinder 3 and 5 at the moment, causing bad idle.

As well have a code indicating servomotor position sensor electrical malfunction, quantity control valve line disconnection. Working on getting these issues fixed and seeing where we're at

Damn man, I found this thread at the perfect time as I'm another Ghassan victim and was looking at buying an m235 engine, but wasn't sure if it was gonna work. I see that it's been a couple of weeks since your last update. How's it going so far?
