Colour on most things is an individual choice - well you would think so wouldn't you? However, walk down any high street and 95% of people will be wearing black, grey or dark blue coats. Similarly, look in any car park and the vast majority of cars will be the same. Coincidence, or have we been programmed by society?
Would be interesting to know what the owner's motivation was for picking that minty green? Did they just crave attention? Is it in honour of something or someone? Ok, it's not a colour I'd choose but then I would go for Sakhir Orange on an M4 but what makes that a more acceptable colour than mint green? If they want attention that's fine, although I don't think the colour people choose for their cars, their hair or their clothes is what makes them stand out.... it's their actions.

Seems to me that if - as is likely these days - the "owner" has got this car on PCP, there is absolutely no resale time risk?

Mintgrun used to be a standard colour in 1976 when the original 3 series was launched.
The new 3 was hard to come by in 1976 and so I bought a Chamonix white 316 ( £2880 ) which Williams in Manchester had on their stock list. I always regretted not waiting for a mint green, but if my memory is correct the 1970's mint green was darker than the latest version. |

Since my post on my Speed Yellow F36, It has flared quite a discussion.
But as i said, personally, i like the mint green, i also love my yellow one, hence the reason i bought it. I bought it because i think it looks nice, i couldn't care less what anybody else thinks, because it makes me happy and thats that. I have always loved yellow cars for some reason. For anybody to purchase a car just for attention is absolutely insane in my opinion. The car came with the full M Performance Kit inc the stripe, i think it looks good personally, but can always be removed. Regarding my plate, yes i own a Fish & Chip Shop. When it comes to resale i am not really bothered, it is an individual colour, £4000 extra i believe and there are very very few around and it will sell quickly, i have already had people give me offers to buy it. I think it would sell quite quickly, i normally just part exchange my cars anyway.

The more individual coloured cars the better, and the same with nicely modified ones too. Why the hell would we want such a limited range of colours and options our lives.. they're already too boring and predictable.

As has been said, we are too conditioned to bland colours; black, silver, greys and whites. We all seem to be too worried about resale rather than thinking 'fuck it, I like whatever colour to actually be individual'. Look at the massive selection of hideous colours in the 70s! Again, you'd think with most cars being on some form of lease or pcp you could just fuck the resale and let BMW sort it out.
Bold colours do suit certain cars but my personal preference may not be that mint green...... It's rather offensive. F36 435, like your banana. It stands out. Not fussed with the Capri strip though |

I like the Java Green, But i prefer the signal Green. That colour is amazing.
Yes i am booking it in to have the calipers done in the new year in speed yellow to match. I have the M Decals waiting which will be applied onto them too and lacquered over.
