Hey guys I didn’t want to start a new thread so I’d figure I’d ask here. I have a 320i and the only stuff I have left to do are exhaust, downpipe, and FMIC. I have like zero knowledge of any exhaust stuff so bear with me. What would you recommend as far as exhaust upgrading? I would love to have dual tips (one tip on each side), and sound that isnt horribly loud. Ive heard that I could buy a 335 muffler and a new diffuser and most shops would be able to make it fit. Is this true? I’m in the Philly area also I’d anyone has any recommendations for a shop that can help out.

Thanks

Most shops will be able to make a 335 muffler fit but... the bumper part is a bit trickier, unless your M-Sport.

Basic bumper will require a template and cutting. Even then, the cutout will be larger than it should be for a single pipe. Exactly why I decided not to go this route.

Most good muffler / exhaust shops can cut the bumper for you to fit the 335 exhaust. I almost went this route but then decided I liked the somewhat of sleeper vibe 😂.

My favorite balance was with stock DP + AWE Touring (Also with midpipe).
Catted Aftermarket DP + AWE is too loud for cold start unless you code that off using BM3.

If I did it all over again, I would just leave everything and get an aftermarket DP.

Ok, if you go catless DP, can you code it with Bimmercode or do you need some other program or tune so not to get a CEL?!

You'll need an ecu flash like Bootmod3 or an older Jb4 that can auto clear.

I can tell you this, on a 320i it's a f'kn joke, lol. I'm tempted to go the muffler delete route myself too. Don't get me wrong, having the catless DP in mine is nice with freeing up the air restrictions (ie. ~25hp), but for sound, it's just sad, haha.
I have a 320i also. I'm planning to do a muffler delete. Do you know how it sounds?

Thumbs up

I just fitted a 235M exhaust on my 2015 328 wagon. Not exactly sure what year the 2 series was, just a quick purchase on Kijiji.
The muffler fit relatively easy. Minor fabrication to existing exhaust, worked out really nice. Mainly did it for looks but it did get a little bit louder and “farts” between shifts at high revs
