Not that that's a bad thing per se, the money has to come from somewhere but the tracks and organisation doesn't give me that classic F1 vibe. I'd rather have Hockenheim back than expaning more in the US (I only like COTA, that's a really nice track). I mean the miami track...trackwise okay(ish) but normally I like street circuits because there's actual racing in a city. Like Monaco. Baku is also awesome, seeing the cars go by those ancient buildings. But this was basically a parkinglot next to a highway. meh.

And there were reports of seating issues forcing people to sit on stairs! Imagine paying $1500 to sit on a step!

The ticket situation was a real shame. The prices were so absurd it made it nearly impossible to attend for most, especially as a family. I have been watching F1 for almost 10 years now and was super excited that a race was finally in my backyard. But then I saw the prices most of which were $2k+ per ticket and I was let down big time. Would have loved to attend and bring my wife and kids for the experience, but $5k+ for a family of 4 is a hard financial pill to swallow.

Whereas in cota last year. I couldn't find shade. Had to sit in mud. Buying a beer took a hour. Took a hour to leave the car park. Walking around the campus felt like being in a sardine can. Charging more for Miami allowed them to limit attendance. Which isn't all bad.

Some people purposely paid for a GA ticket and got annoyed when someone kicked them out of their paid assigned seat.

Prices were not that high, it has been very falsely inflated because of scam sites like stubhub and people putting on ebay for crazy prices (it’s not an F1 issue, it’s Ticketmaster that is sleezy). but if you notice those jacked up tickets rarely ever sell for more that face value plus a small percentage over. There were tickets available every day and at any time for $250-$400 per day.
I saw no issues with seating, plenty of people squatted an moved around, I spent time in the covered shaded seats when it wasn’t race time. But overall there were no issues I saw with seating across the 3 days in the grandstands. Pretty certain those numbers quoted by Bubbles are not accurate at all. It was more like 300K over the course of the 3 days. Stands were like 90% capacity during quali and practices. But totally full during the race. Overall it was very smooth, from parking to moving around and sitting, plenty of food and drinks and bathrooms nearby. They did a pretty darn great job for a first-run. |

Btw, where do you/did you find tickets like that for sale? Once they are sold out from original source I don’t know where else to look other than sites like StubHub. Were individual people selling outside gates at the event? |

For race day, crowd capacity was 82,500 but just under 80,000 attended, 50,000 in the grand stands the remaining 30,000 were VIPs. Less for P1-P3 and quali.
