Thanks RedErik, I had no idea it went via OABR. Looks like there's no easy way to splt the connection and use a Fakra splitter cable, so I'll be using the android GPS receiver then. |

No signal error after android 11 install
Hi
Installed android 11 screen, however getting no signal error when going to original idrive menu. Things I have tried: Reseated all connections.(including quad lock, LDVS, etc) Cycled through all display options one by one on android (settings, factory settings, car display). Cycled through can bus settings and left on the one most applicable to me. Connected original bmw display (while all android wiring harness in place) and all working as expected. BMW screen working with idrive. Therefore issue seems to be with android unit Any suggestions from anyone? Last edited by Sanjayo1; 06-25-2022 at 03:54 AM.. |

- I still need zlink, correct? - How can I avoid zlink messing with my Hotspot? Just turn wireless connection off in Android Auto on my phone in AA settings? - Any settings to do in either unit to discover my phone once it is hooked up? USB host mode is on. As always thanks for any advice |

Hi all, re OTA updates, I updated one car from 1.8.9 straight to 2.0.9 without any issues. I also downgraded (I purchased a new for another car) from 2.1.7 straight to 2.0.9 without any issues. Again as many have said, whilst it worked for me it is at your risk.

Regarding the new screen, I bought a 662, Android 11, 6g, 128g for a 2017 G30 5 series with NBT EVO 2 HU. Everything works ok except I cannot get any sound. I know the NBT EVO 2 HU does not have an AUX in and only USB. I have tried contacting the retailer but they are not the best . I have the Business Hi Fi (but still Harman Head unit) without any optical cables. Can anyone offer any advice?

If still no sound, then worth cycling through the android factory settings menu, and I think its 'Aux' 'manual' and 'automatic' settings you may want to toggle and then test fully. One of those should make it work |

Hi Sanjayo thanks for this. I will try the 'AUX In' coding tonight. I have tried toggling the manual / automatic setting on the factory setting without any luck.

I think I used this from memory, but do your own research as to what needs coding CDMM_AUX_HU -> AKTIV CDMM_ANALOG_AUX -> AKTIV CDMM_AUX_SIMPLE_1 -> AKTIV Got the above from here https://f80.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1813467 I did mine with Bimmercode. (You might need to go to advanced settings in Bimmercode to see the above) Once you have 'Aux' as in input on the idrive, then select it. Then you can toggle 'manually and automatic' settings on android unit. I'm confident it should work for you once done |

In the case of NBTEVO, analog AUX may not work with F3x. That's because the ISO coupler doesn't have AUX wiring. In that case, there is no other way but to use USB AUX.

Hi Sanjayo, I was about to start the coding then read on Bimmercode instructions that all third party hardware should be disconnected before I code. Did you disconnect your screen before you coded it?
In fact anyone else using BimmerCode whilse the Android Screens was connected? |

I coded AUX using E-Sys while the Android 11 unit was installed. No problem at all

I have the 8.8" A11 662 unit in my F20 and OEM screen was 6.5". Is there any way to make the Android unit accept the OEM signal if I code the car (using E-Sys) to send out 8.8" and 1280x480?. When I tried the signal got messed up on th Android screen. Maybe edit factory XML?
