Best would be to get the tunes now and just upload once you are ready to disconnect the A8 Quote:
We will have them both for a combo price... If you get the tune now, you still get the credit and discount when you purchase the downpipe later

Same performance gains as catless on stock turbo, with a quieter exhaust tone and no fuel smell

i'm holding off until i see the AA pipe come out. it would be easy then to go full AA with a CP, IC, DP, and their OBD flash tune. sounds like an awesome setup.

You will smell both burnt and a little unburnt fuel without a dp but its not obnoxious. I'm going full stock exhaust since the stock system is built very well and just get a New Bigger FMIC which will make more of a difference vs exhaust. Then tune.

Guarantee that running the car hard there will be a more negative effect in the car running stock FMIC and DP vs the car with Bigger FMIC and stock exhaust.

This thread is a joke LOL !!!
Anyways, BMS/Terry himself are running stock cats on all their development and racing cars from N55 to S55 to N63TU and are making power. So it seems the catless or catted dp generally adds more noise but not limiting on power in the modern cars like S55/B58/N63Tu and some N55 (EWG)

I agree but the poster does add that Terry is still making good power with the entire stock exhaust system ,stock dp included without major power restrictions is my take.

Of course u can slap a tune on a car and make above stock power levels. And u add a dp and you make more. I am not sure whats so hard to understand. Adding a fmic is going to lower intake temps after lengthy runs like at a track or if you live in cali and can do canyon runs. FMIC were a big deal 20 years ago when the factory oem intercooler was 90% plastic and the size of a piece of paper, if that. Things have changed. Can you get a larger than stock IC, of course. Is it going to matter much in every day driving, probably not. |

If you are going to run low boost, stock turbo, then stay with the stock FMIC

Yes there is only one cat on the stock F30/32 N55 exhaust. It sits in the down pipe. I went with the Fabspeed HFC down pipe and the power gains were immediately evident. And obviously no CEL and just passed emissions test last month. I also have the Active Autowerke axle back so my only stock part of the exhaust is from the resonator to the down pipe.

My view stands. A bolt on bmw isnt going to see a material gain from a fmic unless its a road course and the stocker melts. However a catless dp is going to show nice gains. How this turned into a conversation about race cars is just stupid. We are talking about bolt on cars. fmic is NOTHING compared to freeing up the exhaust by removing a cat. I have owned plenty including track cars. but who cares we are talking about bolt on 435s for crysake. |
