My car is ActiveHybrid3 2013, i-step is F020_16_03_504.
How can I reduce the brightness of DRL during the daytime. I already tried PWM_LEVEL_1 Werte=64 to 32, but no change. |

Do the exact same thing on a 6-series with LED headlights
Quote:
I have a 640d (F06) UK spec with the new facelifted LED headlights that are very similar to the 3-series lights. The 6-series community is nowhere near as active as this one, and you guys have solved a very similar issue. My car has two FLE modules both with POLI1_Idx, POLI2_Idx, and POLI3_Idx. I want to enable full angel eye brightness with headlights on, however, my POLI werte values are all: 01, 01, 0E, 01, 01, 01, 01, 01, 01, 01 So I have no idea which value to change! Please could you, or anyone, give me any suggestions? I'd be so so so grateful. All of the coding guides for doing this on a 5-series or 6-series don't work as they are designed for cars before the FLE modules for LED headlights. Thanks. Davood |

Try this value in POLI1_Idx , POLI2_Idx and POLI3_Idx
01, 01, 0D, 01, 01, 01, 01, 01, 01, 01 (Remember to code both the FLE's. There are two)

If it doesn't work, we may have to alter the priority over other settings

That worked amazingly! Thanks so much. I'm hoping now that they don't overheat, but given the dipped beam and angels operate independently for indefinite periods it should be ok. Also I guess they're designed to work in Dubai so in the U.K. I'd hope there should be enough cooling!
Thanks again. |

Please excuse me, if this has been answered already, but I went through all the pages and couldn't find a direct answer. Will this method work for a US model 2016 340i LCI w/non adaptive headlights, or is this strictly for the EU spec. I did notice that one of the posts in this thread mentioned that the EU and US spec are the same, but I don't know accurate that is.

I have an f15 x5 2016 that I am trying to code for 100% halo led brightness with lowbeams on. I do have adaptive LED headlights and I have tried all the FLE coding modules with no luck. I don't have the earlier TMS module, only the newer FLE.
My car is US spec 2016 x5 F15 with adaptive led headlights. Was anyone able to get the 100% halo brightness with lowbeams on adaptive led headlights for US spec vehicles? |

I looked at the F15 coding sheet in the F15 coding thread and it does not contain information about the halo increase to 100%. Please point me in the right direction. I am trying to code the halos to 100% with low beam on my xenon F15, is that even doable?

If you have the FLE modules you need to look at the DRL_idx Hex codes and the current codes for POLI1_Idx. There will be one pair of codes that will be different between the two. This should be the corresponding pair that controls the DLR halo's. The code that is in the DRL_idx is the one for 100% brightness and the one presently in the POLI1_idx will be the dimmed. Simply alter the pair in POLI1_Idx , POLI2_Idx and POLI3_Idx to match the DRL_idx pair.
This is just an example, Say the DRL_idx reads 02, 02, 0E, 02, 02, 02, 02, 02, 02, 02 and the POLI1_idx reads: 02, 02, 0F, 02, 02, 02, 02, 02, 02, 02. The third pair controls the DRL halos. They are already at 100% with just DRL so substitute the 0F with the 0E in POLI1_Idx, POLI2_Idx and POLI3_Idx as they correspond with the three light switch positions. Hey presto 100% Halo with lights on. The above is only an example and it may look different in your car and / or be a different pair. If you have the older TMS modules, it is still possible but the hex codes are arranged a completely different way.

I am guessing your Xenons have LHM / TMS. Coding would be in TMS. Instead of comparing DRL_Idx to POLI1_Idx, POLI2_Idx and POLI3_Idx, you look at Tagfahrlicht to Standlicht Modus 1, Standlicht Modus 2, Standlicht Modus 3; additionally, you can code Welcome Light 1. Must change BOTH TMS Modules otherwise your car will look like it has a bruised eye or is winking 3005 Leuchtmittelmatrix 1, F8 Tagfahrlicht (German for daytime running light) 00 03 00 00 00 04 00 00 64 03 00 00 64 23 00 00 <-- this is the default value Standlicht Modus 1 / 2 / 3 00 03 00 00 64 03 00 00 64 03 00 00 2E 24 00 00 (must change all three modus) Welcome Light 1 00 03 00 00 64 03 00 00 64 03 00 00 2E 24 00 00 (optional) Parklicht 00 03 00 00 00 03 00 00 64 03 00 00 2E 24 00 00 (optional for street side parking lamp) Follow Me Home 00 03 00 00 64 03 00 00 64 03 00 00 2E 24 00 00 (optional) Remote Light 00 03 00 00 64 03 00 00 64 03 00 00 2E 24 00 00 (optional) So Corona rings are dimmed from 100% DRL to 46% with low beams (64 Hex = 100 Decimal; 2E Hex = 46 Decimal). If you want 100, you change to blue hex in Standlicht Modus 1, 2, & 3 to 64 to match Tagfahrlicht; or you can choose any other desired percentage (eg, 50 = 80%). Plus, you can also set 'Welcome', 'Follow me home', or 'Remote lights,' to the same or desired percentage. And, remember to change both TMS (1082/ 1083). The only one I didn't do is the parklicht which controls the intensity of the street side parking light. I get hassled enough when I have either side on and they're only 46%, imagine the number of people knocking on my door from three blocks down to tell me my lights are on Last edited by HZX540e; 12-20-2016 at 07:39 AM.. |
