Going to my destination I averaged 33.5 MPG, driving mostly in eco mode at speeds of 80-105 MPH. Coming home I averaged 28.5 MPG, but I was driving aggressive (90-115 MPH) in sport due to many stalls along the way delaying my progress. One thing I noticed is that the MPG really suffers in sport mode at higher speeds. On a separate trip, I averaged 90 MPH (according to the computer) over a 60 mile trip and returned a measly 21.5 MPG. Oh yeah, 4 cyl or not, this car is quick. |

That's average speed that includes any time the engine is on. Anytime you're sitting still has a huge effect on average speed.

Dutch carmag autoweek.nl tested a 328i Luxury 8AT.
They were not impressed by the 4 cylinder engine sound and by the MPG numbers BMW stated. They got real world US MPG : 25.5....(9.2 litres/100km). But they found the engine just fast(which means less MPG logically) and the dynamics very good, as always. 4.5 stars out of 5. But tbh that MPG is what I get with my 335i 6MT as well. |

So tomorrow, I'll be taking my F30 for the first big trip to Belgium and monday coming back , a total of about 450 miles.
90% is highway driving. So 30MPG US should be possible with cc speed of about 80mph. |

Just finished a trip in my f30 328i automatic using 100% highway from long beach to San Diego.
Avg speed: 70mph Duration: 1:40 hr Distance: 114 miles Consumption: 38.8 mpg Did it mostly in Eco mode, but downshifted several times here and there to vary my RPMs for break in. Prior to that long trip, my avg speed was 25mph with fuel economy of about 31mpg. Prob 50% highway and 50%city. |

I love what I am seeing here for gas mileage! I also absolutely love the resolution in the screens on these cars. So crisp!
