Please help! Update disaster!
Hi all. 1st time poster but love this forum for a long time as an awesome source of information!
Today I got an email from the supplier of my qualcom android head unit (octa core /64gig/4g/wifi) with a link to download android 10 (was 9 before) update. I have updated newer versions of android 9 with no problem. Anyway. after the update, its now stuck in a 'no signal' loop that then goes to scrambled graphics that I cant decipher enough to make out what menu its on.. It seems to be working in the background as songs were playing but the video mode seems wrong and I cant seem to fix it.. I have even uploaded and edited version of the bmw-oem xml file in case i could tweak it somehow there. My car is CCC - perhaps they sent me a CIC Bios? I have also tried renaming older android 9 ksw files to the 'factory reset' filename but it doesnt seem to force install of that at all.. What can I do? Obviously dont want to wait 6 months and pay return postage to china at this time of panic. thanks so much for any help! Shakir . Heres the email from them - Andream ---------- Download link: https://mega.nz/#!2UwnRS6T!jyILVx7ka...xAEOkM3pgfcP6Q Note: for Android 9.0, change the file name to 'Ksw-P-Userdebug_OS_v1.2.5-ota.zip'. for Android 10.0, don't need to change the file name. Qualcomm upgrade instructions: (Note: The upgrade process cannot be powered off and the files are not extracted.) Upgrade path: U disk or SD card root directory Step: 1. Copy the upgrade file to the root directory of the U disk/SD card (first level directory) 2. Insert the USB flash drive/SD card containing the upgrade file to the USB port. 3. Wait for the machine to recognize the SD card/U disk and the upgrade prompt box appears. 4. Click Yes and the system will start to upgrade until the vehicle terminal automatically restarts and the upgrade is successful. 5. The upgrade process takes 5 minutes. |

It is problem with dongle (Autokit/Autoplay app), not a problem with our unit. You should contact your dongle seller and report the bug.

Do I have to root the Unit again after the update? Cause my OK Google isnīt working anymore. And does anybody have the problem that sound is working good but on the BMW side it says that no AUX device is connected even though it is ticked, i can adjust the volume and the AUX sign shows up in the upper right corner? I didnīt connect to the AUX in the middle console as everything was working fine, just the AUX in the main harness is connected. I tried a lot of settings and but nothing helped. Does the AUX option in the settings has to be ticked or not? |

Finally i update my unit, everythings work, idrive globally in every single app and full support with carplay, unfortunately i have 2 issue:
1) if i start the car in the oem side as normally i do for listening music with my iphone with the carplay dongle inserted the unit automatic routing in the android side, if not inserted the unit stay in the oem side. 2) after checking every installed app, in Android 9 the Onkyo HF Player worked full screen but now work as the imaged attacked. Any suggestions? |

Hey guys and gals. I know this forum post is mostly for the f30 and 10.25" Android HU. But i have a 2010 e90 with the 8.8in CIC Logic 7 stock system. No ComBox. I am looking into getting this Android Snapdragon unit.
Andream 8.8" Android 9.0 8core 4G 64G Car Multimedia Player https://www.aliexpress.com/item/3284...65ae4c4dSaJnBA Are these smaller units compatible with the android updates being posted here? If so I assume root is possible on this unit. Can someone post a link to the rooting instructions? Would the system wide idrive controller work on this unit as well? Is there a way to map the voice control steering wheel button to Google Assistant? Also do these unit not need the aux cable routed to the center console? In this post he is stating he does not use the AUX cable. https://www.e90post.com/forums/showp...&postcount=497 |

Now with 1.3.0 bass sound bug is fixed.
Now I hope that they will include usb microphone support (in Android 9 there was support) in next update. Also would be great add also support for gamepads like xBOX and PS3 PS4 gamepads. It's very easy to include support when they are creating the kernel. If you know a good seller that he pay attention to you (mine is very bad seller, dont answer to my cuestions or problems), please tell him to include in next updates. Cheers. |
