Nope; the guy who I spoke to said the insurers simply aren't interested - even with very basic mods like suspension changes etc

Was it the Thatcham branch you dealt with? From my understanding it's only that branch that looked upon mods favourably. I've been with Aplan for quite a few years and they do cover like for like.
